Hinge on kitchen cupboard door
Comments
-
just seen the other pic from last year that had a glued hinge rip off some of the chipboard.
without a closer look hard to tell if an inset nut will work without some reconstruction, that one may be easier to move but will need the correct bit to make the hole.
Any stripped threads in chip/fibre boards, inset nuts are the way to fix.0 -
Thanks. I have already done the temporary fix with the Gorilla Glue as I was fed up of the door lying around and cupboard being left like that. I doubt it will hold long term but will report back.
Actually am thinking of replacing all the doors at some stage as they are 13 years old and a bit dated. That may be an option in a few months' time anyway.
I will have a look at your suggestion if you the door ends up coming straight off. I am sure with repeated use the glue can't hold it though the guy in B&Q said glues are pretty good these days even for metal etc. Those hinges are quite strong though so I can imagine the force of it over time will be too much.0
