I am separating from my ex. I have asked for shared custody one week our daughter is with me the other with her which she did agree too.. I work a flexible hours mon-fri, she has a complicated shift rota system.
Our daughter wants the week on week off but the ex is trying to stipulate how I work my week ie be there in the morning (I am) and make sure I am home for when she leaves school. she is 13years old, she would be home alone for 35 minutes before I get home. on her week where she is at work some shifts she is away for 24 hours or starts at 7am she will leave her with me, not an issue to me but she is demanding I pay heavy maintenance as I earn more than her. I will be giving her £65000 from the buy out of our house. question is am I liable for maintenance and do I need a legal document signing (stupid questioni suppose) I just want whats best. if possible id have her permanently

Until a proper CSA/CMA maintenance order is done use this to calculate what you should pay based on how often you have your child.

The ex cannot set her own amount.0 -

In essence you are entitled to (for want of better words - a discount of 50%ish)
You would pay (assuming you are happy for her to be the PWC), £7 + 50% of the normally due maintenance. If you post your salary (and any pension you pay) I will work it out for you, or you can use the above calculator.
Sometimes it helps to see the formula written down, rather than just an end figure.0
