Tesco's cereal bar, own brand found stone that chipped my tooth

I bought a packet of cereal bars, usually buy Kellogs, anyway bit into it and it chipped my tooth, I told tesco's about this and me and my daughter took this back to store, anyway I made an appointment with my dentist, cost me £13.50 to repair (it chipped the enamel of my tooth front tooth) and a 120 mile journey to get there and back, I sent all forms filled in by my dentist etc.. But tesco's are only offering me £50 for fuel and dental treatment, what should I be doing now? I've rejected this offer as I don't think it's fair, because of all the hassle and journey and headache this has caused me. I asked them for £100 thinking this isn't excessive. Am I wrong or right to ask this? Many thanks.

The only thing I would say that a 120 mile round trip to the dentist may be considered as a bit extreme?I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. £13.50 to make a repair?
Wow please give me the name of this dentist.
Might just be worth the trip for prices like this.0 -
My dentist that I'd had for 20 years was 80 miles away for several of those years (now 300 so I've finally got a new one, but that was my choice and I wouldn't have been looking for travel cost compensation.
Edit: I'd agree with POPPYOSCAR, my dentist would have charged a lot more than £13.50!0 -
Must be private. That is neither a Band 1 or 2 charge0

120 miles at £1.20 per litre = £22 (35mpg + 15% Non -optimal driving offset)
Dental treatment = £13.50
Total outlay = £35.50
Remainder for 'trauma' = £14.500 -
