Good morning chums and hugs to lainey and all going through a hard, sad, bad time at the moment.

Looking out of my window at the moment its very misty but looks as though the sun will burn off the mist later as its trying to get brighter by the minute. Not cold at all though and we have a predicted high of 16c in Kent today which is pretty good for the time of the year,no doubt as time draws on so will winter.

Boys have a Baker day today so they are off from schoolI may take them to the country park for a wander later.
Dinner at Dds tonight as I like to see all the children when they knock on the door with their costumes.few children live in my road, nearly all middle-aged or old ladies like myself :):):)

I have made a nice victoria sponge cake for the boys for today so that should keep them happy when we go to the park later.

Hope you all have a good day what ever you are doing
    Take care chums

  • Good morning everyone and happy Hallowe'en/Samhain! Hope everyone is okay as possible, thought are with those who need them.

Today is an off day, I have definitely woken up on the wrong side of the bed. Really fatigued today and I don't know why, I'm supposed to be volunteering at the cattery but no chance in this state :(
I have to go to work today, but only from 3 until 8 so not too bad. I'm just going to try and do a bit of stretching and maybe something calming like baking bread; I feel like my nerves are totally frazzled for some reason.

The weather is really nice here so for, the sun is very bright and there's hardly any wind. Perhaps I'll try a restorative walk in the woods with the dog? Never sure if I can manage it until it's too late!

My sister and niece made their first jack o'lantern last night so there's a freshly baked pumpkin pie on the counter, I'm looking forward to trying it.

Have a great day everyone :)

  • Good morning chums,

I had a lovely weekend with mix of working, relaxing and getting some errands done.

Yesterday I woke a 6.30 and just decided to make the most of it. I went a run and came back to clean the place top to bottom, and my car. Then I made a carrot and chilli soup, a date and walnut loaf and some of my lunches for the week ahead. Very proud of myself.

Back to it this week. Hoping for a better week in work with less drama, I'll just get the head down continue what I'm doing and prove the boss wrong and that I can do the work!

Oh. We have a family group chat and we got a text last night from my step-brother asking if we'll all be in tomorrow night as him and his fiance have an announcement. We're all pretty sure he's going to say they're expecting. Exciting times.

    Have a nice day everyone.

Lainey and LWW, thinking of you.

I'm hoping I won't get any little visitors as I didn't buy any sweets. I have had some the last coupe of years and then no-one has called. Like Jackie we are a bit of a child free zone which is a pity. There were lots when DD and DS were growing but very few people have moved away.

Disappointingly DH's op was cancelled at the last minute because someone came in with a ruptured aorta and they needed the imaging machine for that so DH was sent home. He has to wait another couple of weeks now, it's very frustrating, but no-one is to blame.
  • Morning, ((((((((((hugs))))))))) if you need one. Lainey especially for you and your Mum.

It was misty when we got up, but whilst we were having our breakfast the sun started to break through, its chilly, but I don't mind that. Machine load of laundry on the line, another load to do tomorrow.

OH is out on the garden clearing up, I need to go out and plant some bulbs in containers. We have brought 2 trays of geraniums in to the house to keep them through the winter, I will take some cuttings off them in the spring.

We went to the organic garden at Ryton yesterday, we have been before, but you can go round the garden free at the weekends. The trees were glorious. I was very naughty, I managed away with a tiny bit of a white lavender, I am going to try and strike it. We are still trying to keep the cats off the piece in the front. I really want the path lined on both sides with lavender. We will wait till the spring now and try again.

Cold chicken tonight, have got a thing for jacket potatoes, so will do a tomato salad and jackets. Thinking of ding a jam sponge for dessert, it will do two nights.

    Morning all,
Quite a nice day here and mild but set to go a lot colder from tomorrow.I'm busy making soup from the chicken we got in the meal deal at weekend, and once thats done will do a ham and sweetcorn chowder with the gammon stock ( I cooked a gammon as well yesterday as DS2 cant eat chicken)Quite a bit of both meats left & will decide what to do wih that later. My food stocks should last a bit longer this week as DS1 got a call late yesterday to see if he'd help his mate out again,so they travelled down to Surrey last night.
We are meant to be going over to our friends later this afternoon if DH can make it home in time, they are having a visitor who we knew when we were all young and going out in a group,he's asked if we could go if poss,he's passing through our area.Must be 40 years since we saw him
I am thinking about my dear Dad today as its 10 years today since he passed away, dont quite know where that time has gone.Had a little chat to him stood at the top of a hill when I took Ly1a out this morning,Quite apt as I could almost see the place where Mum & Dad first met all those years ago.I only found this out when I went to see my Mums cousin a few weeks ago,she lives near us,and they all used to hang around together.Dont quite know what made me ask,but her answer staggered me really, its a beauty spot less than a mile from here & there used to be a tea room and boating lake where the 'youngsters' used to meet in the early 50s :A

Hugs to Lainey and LWW and anyone else who needs a hug xx

Didn't do much at all but did get over to see Bill, he was warm and sweaty in his stable as nearly has a full winter coat now, I usually have clipped him by the end of October but apart from trimming his legs have done nothing. It takes a good couple of hours but really must make the time at some point this week.
Are you like me, and find grooming time therapeutic? If so, give yourself that time with Bill, and spend some good quality time with him. Give him a hug from me while you're there. ;)

Busy day today; we've been and taken a load of stuff to the local animal charity shop for our Samhain Giveaway - decluttering stuff that no longer has a place in our lives, but could do others some good.
We also popped into Wyrdo's for some incense sticks.;)
And into the nearby real ale pub cos it've been rude not to. :D

Got a Damh The Bard CD on, which is a nice change (we don't often play music at all).
Qu0rn fillets in HM white wine sauce for dins tonight, followed by HM goose-gog crumble; and there's a bottle of champagne chilling in the fridge.

Later, planning some serious stuff with candles, for friends recently passed. I need to ensure Bailey-dog knows he's still always welcome here.

Suspect I may be no use to man nor beast tomorrow!
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Afternoon, I finished early after a seminar in the old city mortuary, it hasn't been used for that for many years and it is a nice peaceful place with a cobbled track leading down to the doors from the main council house. Very strange to be there on Halloween.

Not working tomorrow as I have a hospital appointment in the midle of the day and no idea how long I will wait. Nothing at all major, I have a large cyst which needs to be removed but not sure if this is yet another look at it or if the removing happens tomorrow.

LaineyT and LWW, thinking of you both.

It has been a beautiful day here and now it is nearly dusk.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back
