The first thing to do is scan for nasties. Download, install and update this http://filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/ It's free but don't click on any trial version. What antivirus do you use, what windows version?0

I am using Windows 7 and use Norton Security I have carried out full scan use optimise and tube up etc Seems to make no difference carried out a speed test
Will try your suggestion Many thanks

Causes no end of problems. Uninstall Norton and try a free AV such as Avira and see if your problems disappear. Come back if they don't.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -
Is it only on the web that it's slow?
What browser are you using?
Try a different browser - Chrome/Firefox for example.0 -
Getting rid of the temp files using something like c cleaner is a good place to start i find.0

Thanks for replies I am just doing the Malware bytes scan at the moment
I am using Firefox but yesterday tried Chrome yesterday without any success
Today I am finding that even my tablet is slow to load up but not as slow as the Laptop.
I have not tried my Desktop which I very rarely use I spoke to Talk Talk about a week ago. They confirmed that the speed was very slow. They got me to switch off the Modem and switch it back on . Speed prior to this was 3.4 After it was 5.6 They said this was within normal limits for my area.
I am not too concerned at the rate but rather that it hangs or tells me it is not responding.. I will report back when this scan is complete
Many thanks Sue0 -

The scan showed up 3 issues so I have got rid of them. Will see if that improves the situation before I do anything further. Many thanks Sue0

based on which premise is that then ? crap guess or do you know it could possibly windows 7 and norton, or could it be DNS or hey it could be wet finger in air, at least try to help what is causing slowness not general finger pointing at symantec.Fightsback wrote: »"I am using Windows 7 and use Norton Security"
