Oh my god. So - mortgage offer accepted AND mortgage application submitted.
Keep your fingers crossed for me people - I think I am going to need it.
Not sure if I mentioned, but I have found out that when I move departments I will no longer be earning a monthly bonus which sucks. So I am having a chat about an account manager position to see where that leads me.
I hope that everyone else has had a good week- and a great weekend plannedxxx

Great about the mortgage!
Can you ask for a raise if you will be worse off? If it's a sideways move surely it shouldn't leave you worse off. Won't that affect your mortgage in itself? From memory back when I used to get bonuses they did include it in the affordability criteria but as an average over a few months.." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Exciting stuff!!
Good luck with the house buying process!0 -
Hi Bob - it wont affect the mortgage because the broker hasn't put it as primary income so it doesn't count at the moment. It also wont change for a few months just yet either.
I am looking at my options, I think that there is another role that I might go for potentially, just seeing what the different avenues are.
It is exciting, but scary! I keep reading on here about people who get AIP's and then get declined for a mortgage - so I am worried that will happen to us. The broker seems to think that we will be fine though, so I have my fingers crossed that it will all just magically work out!
eeek!!

I had the same fear when we applied for our mortgage it could only go in my name as OH hadn't lived in the UK long enough... I worked out what i would be happy to borrow and then was told they would offer another 20,000 on top of that! I think my income was 22,000 at that point and OH's not counted and they were willing to lend 140,000 which to me seems crazy! My credit rating at that point was average at best. It almost seems now that if you have bad credit rating your totally screwed by them but if you have okish they will still lend huge amounts so i wouldn't worry too much!
Most exciting day was when we got the keys.. bet you can't waitDebt: £14,000 now £2169Emergency Fund: 1000/ £1000:j0 -
Hi jvr - that makes me feel SO MUCH better. My broker seems to think that sometimes mse can be a bit ott with the mortgage requirements - which is helpful to prepare but scares people that should be fine!
So, in the vein of trying not to get my hopes too high... I've already redecorated the house in my mind room by room.
Got no money left now until payday but done the food shop and get paid in a few days so all should be OK.
The idea of the house is so exciting it's all I can think about!!!!

Hey Bob - yes they finally did last week!
I am feeling really much more optimistic about our mortgage application today - some days I feel really nervous that it will get declined, but today is a good day!!
Did my weekly food shop, I got all the food for the week and now I am good to go until payday
Although, paying out the broker £250 this week has depleted the emergency savings so £200 will go back in there and then there will be an extra £100 off the card this month - still progress. Should be £119 to loan,, £150 to barclays and £100 to halifax so £370 off this month and then my parents will be paying in the deposit into my account this week or next - £5k of which will go to savings, then that will be used for the fees etc and the HTB isa will go into the account as well. We have £40k from my parents, and £3.5 (after bonus) in the isa, we are putting £35k down as the deposit so we should have enough left over after fees to be able to pay for the wedding and focus on being debt free by first quarter next year!
Just got to keep going!
