Anyone got any more info on the silicone thingies? I was thinking of getting some but not sure now!
I've just bought a rectangular dish and a cake (tin?). Made a traybake which came out succesfully, although the bottom was very smooth and shiny - strange!
It took about 10mins less cooking time.
Will probably bake a cake next weekend - too busy this one.0 -
Got to use a proper muffin tin.
I wouldn't part with mine for anything0 -
Just to let you all know that i made muffins again last night but with a different recipe ( blueberries ) i did'nt over mix the mixture and put a NON preheated tray under the silicone tray and it came out brilliant. second batch was even more better because i did'nt over fill the mixture in each cup. I don't know if it has anything to do with just my oven but i recomend doing it on a gas mark 4 then a 6 for the same time. I have suspicions on this oven as for 5 mins its flame is dead quite and the next the sound of the flame is roaring..... i would love a fan assisted oven but not up to me its the landlord.
Oh, by the way, the muffins for my OP was different to the one last night i notice that last nights one had a thicker mixture to the first one, the first one was more runnier? could that be more trickier?0 -

Why is it that shop bought muffins taste sooooo good...so moist and gooey? I have tried and tried but the ones I have made at home don't really compare, they come out "cakey"and dry. Does anybody have a really good recipe for me to try pleaseeeeeeeeee. This is really annoying me as everything else I make at home tastes pretty good and sometimes better than shop bought. I have two dds who absolutely love muffins...I had to buy them some last week! Anybody out there got any ideas and or recipes they can recommend.
Thanks
