ASDA 'Double Dip' Parkingeye

Hi

Posting on behalf of my mother, who is the registered keeper of my parents car.

They got a letter this morning saying Parking Charge Notice. It has photos of their vehicle entering and leaving ASDA car park on the 17th of Oct, and according to Parkingeye they were in the car park for 9 hours and 44 minutes. :rotfl:They live less than half a mile up the road!

It was two separate visits, and for whatever reason the ANPR camera has failed to record the first exit and the second entry, fortunately my mothers bank statement shows the two seperate transactions on that day.

We have been into ASDA and spoken with a manager (not the head manager it seems) and were initally told that there was nothing they could do, but we asked to make a formal complaint and our details were taken and we were told the manager would call us later.

I'm not hopeful that ASDA will resolve this.

So, we are a bit unsure how to proceed from here. Will Parkingeye accept our evidence? Will they quibble if the bank statements are online printouts? - if we have to wait for originals it may take us past the deadline for appeals.

Can anyone please advise as my mother is very worried about all this, she has never recieved a parking fine in all her life, I think it's disgusting how ASDA can penalize people just for shopping twice in one day.

hi and welcome to the forum .....

you have been 'done' by what's known as double dipping google it ;)

    right what to do .....

    two courses of action .......

1: have a read of the newbies thread ... do not try and read it all in one go ;)

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816822

in it you will find a template to send off the the nice people at ParkingLie .... look for the blue BPA one ...

    2: Asda

"We have been into ASDA and spoken with a manager (not the head manager it seems) and were initally told that there was nothing they could do,"

what a load of twaddle ..... they employ them! so when the manager speaks to you let him know that you have been getting advice of this forum and if he does not sort it then you will be writing to the company CEO!

tell him / her how often you shop , what you spent that day , ask why decent Asda patrons are being treated as such ... why they allow their agents (PE) to use such inaccurate equipment...... when you have proof "mothers bank statement shows the two seperate transactions on that day."

    be firm but polite ....

let us know how you get on ....

    good luck

Just keep on to ASDA whilst you go through the rigmarole of following up with ParkingLie. Find out and get in touch with whoever the 'Head' manager at ASDA is. If you can get their email address and telephone number, all the better. Be persistent, and email/call (most days?) until either this is resolved via ASDA, or until it is resolve via ParkingLie. Don't let ASDA off the hook. Escalate it further within ASDA also, and sign up for Twitter and tweet your joy for this situation online; don't lie, but something that ASDA would find uncomfortable would help.

How do ParkingLie get most people to pay? By being a stubborn pain in the bottom, hoping most people will eventually cough up.

How do you get uncooperative Landlords to help with your ParkingLie false and unjust parking scam? By being a stubborn pain in the bottom whereby it becomes easier to cancel the charge than to continue to put up with all the junk and hassel coming your way.

I suspect that ASDA and others don't want to cancel parking charges because they might have to pay a cancellation fee to ParkingLie. Therefore company policy will be to never cancel PCNs to save the company money. Tis suggested in this thread:

the main ASDA website has the contact details for both telephone and also you can fill in their online complaint (on their website) which raises a trouble ticket with a reference number (I have a complaint with them at the moment, which we have had 2 actual complaints about the same issue and they are currently dealing with it with my local store - who have also been helpful but have had to refer it back to the Leeds head office)

ALWAYS check the websites for their Head offices in cases like these, and raise the complaints with Head Office as well as the local store

the online system raises an INCIDENT with a reference number

it really does not get any easier for raising complaints with asda direct

Make sure you do not reveal who was driving to anyone under any circumstances.

Don't miss the PoPLA appeal deadline but do keep complaining to the manager/CEO of Associated Dairies, who do own the land, do employ parking lie, and can instruct parking lie to cancel it.
If you are told different, reply that you know this is not true as the Land Registry shows the land is owned by ASDA and therefore as landowner they can cancel this.

Complain also to the local press, Trading Standards, your MP, and Mrs May. There is a BMPA campaign about this at the moment. Look for the thread here that begins "This demands a new thread --- Theresa May ..." for further information.
