Main dealer offering no discount off Fiat 500

Has anyone had any experience of buying a new Fiat 500 lately? I am looking to buy a new 500 Lounge, my local dealer in Swansea has 2 in stock, but will not knock anything off because he says Fiat don't have to discount them. I have seen a pre registered one in Cardiff for £9280 with 8 miles on the clock, so obviously this has been reduced. Anyone else got any experience of getting money off one of these. Thanks

When you say pre-registered in Cardiff was it pre-registered as a 16 plate or 65 plate.
If the dealer is not willing to discount then they must be quite confident of being able to sell at full price. All you can do is try other dealers / online agents ect.Totally Debt Free & Mortgage Free Semi retired and happy0 -
If it's pre reg, it will be cheaper. End of discussion.
If you want a discount, go somewhere else and try. Of course Fiat don't HAVE to discount it. They can do what they like, they've got the car and you want it.0 -
Quick look at www.carwow.co.uk shows savings of over £1k on new ones - as others have said find another dealer0

Well, it isn't on the Cardiff Fiat dealer's website. The only £9-10k 500 Lounge on there issatrdayboy wrote: »I have seen a pre registered one in Cardiff for £9280 with 8 miles on the clock

£9995, 16-plate, 4,000 miles.
I presume it's this one?

So, again, 16 plate - so you're months into the warranty already - and it's at a generic car supermarket.0 -
the lounge in the "generic supermarket" is a 66 plate. my opening post was aimed at asking if anyone had any experience in haggling over a better deal. as dealer is adamant that fiat won't discount a Fiat 500

Arnold Clark are offering a Brand New 66 Fiat 500 1.2 3 door Lounge for £9988 which they say s £2652 off list price

If there's 'no discount to be had' clearly the dealer doesn't need to discount the car, presumably because he's ahead of his targets currently.
As such, the answer is to look elsewhere at other dealers who are in a less fortunate position and so are more flexible on price.0 -

But you'd have to deal with Arnold shark!0 -
Dealer has decided that you want that car and he doesn't need to discount it as you have no negotiating position.
I'm not great at negotiation but what I did was get an Internet quote for a PCP deal for the spec of car, and then was able to go to the dealer and ask whether they would match.0
