12 month contract up - what next?

Hello all
I'm not v savvy on the ins and outs of mobile contracts so any advice would be appreciated

I've been on a 11-month free contract with o2/e2save which is about to finish. All has gone according to plan, so have got cashbacks and so spent little net over the year.

I want to get another similar deal. I'm not particularly interested in upgrages etc. just want basic-ish phone (currently Motorola L6) at cheapest annual rate
1. Can I cancel with o2 and then apply for anor one of their 12-month free contracts?
2. I'm guessing I won't get that sort of offer from retentions?
3. Or do I have to go through another retailer and port my number if not o2?
4. Or something else better?

A little confused...

I am currently with Orange because if your tariff is £30 a month you get totally free wirless internet which saves a bit each month.

They are giving £100 credit on your account at the moment on selected tariffs. Here's what I just got:

Nokia N95 (Free) :j
£100 credit on my account (Free) :j
Magic number that I choose then I can call them free all the time :j
900 Free Anytime Minutes and UNLIMITED texts £35 a month :j

I think thats a bargain!!!!
