Thanks Beanie & Redo - it's already feeling better than it did first thing thank goodness, hopefully it'll carry on improving at this rate! Will amble out for a gentle stroll at lunchtime and just concentrate on walking as normally as possible on it at a very slow pace and see how it feels - the direct tenderness around the joint has gone altogether anyway which feels like a very good sign.

Ooh ouch! My advice would be to take it easy for a couple of days even if it's feeling better. Don't rush back or you could cause further/longer lasting damage. Glad the pain is easing though.

Good advice Starnac - thank you. I had a very gentle, slow walk at lunchtime as much because my head needs to get a bit of daylight once a day at least as anything else - and it actually felt not too bad. definitely will keep it to a very moderated pace for a little while though. I can still do some strength stuff and particularly core stuff which I need to do anyway. Just irritating at this stage though - grrr!

yay indeed - quite excited now - it's creeping up fast! :T

Thanks CL - it's not got in the way too much, thank goodness!

Ankle update then - and thank you all so much for all the ouches and good wishes! It's healing a LOT quicker than I thought it might. I reckon 95% pain free within normal range of movement (walking etc) now and about 80% pain free on rotation of the joint, so definitely getting there. The freeze gel and ankle support combination have helped massively I think. I decided to go to the gym last night as planned but banned myself from doing any running on the treadmill (really wouldn't have been a good plan I know!) and stuck to a walking warmup/cooldown and then strength work, which worked OK. Very glad I have the pass for this month as it's been good to just be able to go there and make use of the facilities like that - I'd not have been able to justify the extra visit if I'd been paying cash. Current plan going forwards I think is that I'll swim as planned tomorrow and do my usual walking and see how that feels, then if I'mm 100% after that I'll see how a gentle mile run at a very steady pace feels on it on Saturday. if that's OK then I'll get some treadmill miles in on Monday night at the gym I think - but really need to play that by ear.

Good news on the electrical works at home - further investigation has revealed why they were getting a higher than expected reading from the sockets and it turns out that we don't need the whole place re-wired after all, it was an easy fix. VERY relieved! There will be work we'll probably choose to have done when the front room gets redecorated but that's a job for next year at the earliest. We're also having an extra socket fitted in the bedroom and having both changed to USB compatible ones too - futureproofing as far as one side of the room goes but mine will get used daily so that's good, and will be miles better than my current set-up with an extension lead and multi adapter. :T

New heater is fitted, old heater is relocated and even older heater will be being shifted by MrEH tonight for disposal. :T Door is on the meter cabinet and looks so good as it is we're debating about just not bothering with primer and paint. New light is up in the porch and looks great. Very happy at EH Towers right now! :D Final bits of electrical work for the time being tomorrow then it's on to finishing the kitchen snagging and getting people to quote for th hallway - a plasterer, a flooring person and a decorator needed for that. Progress!

Not much plaNned for the weekend aside from almost certainly watching some rugby, I'll swim tomorrow, making sure I get my steps in and I think MrEH might be out on Saturday night with the rugby boys. I imagine we'll probably get out for a walk somewhere at some stage. Actually really lovely to have a less demanding weekend! :T

Just leaving this here having borrowed it from Redo's diary...

Reading: Sheila Quigley: Run for Home
Eating: Paella-ish, tonight, Forgot to get the seafood out to defrost this morning though - numpty!
House Progress: Final electrical bits for now being done tomorrow. MrEH to contact Dave-The-Builder about final kitchen snagging
Used up: Tonight's dinner will see off a bag of frozen mixed seafood from the freezer. Also really need to focus on toiletries stuff again as my stash grew to the tune of the Boots Star gift S&G set at christmas!
Bought: Yesterday - that airshow ticket I was talking about previously. £30, no booking fee. Today should be a NSD

Just reminded myself of the Al's S6 offers this week - already have the chantenay carrots from last week, might well add baby corn and mangetout and put a stir fry on the list for some time next week. Just need to think what we'll have it with.

Reminder for the ThaT supermarkeT list - frozen fish - see what's on the special offer at the moment. (Might be salmon & tuna I think)

Ankle was 100% pain free and back to 100% mobility by the time I went to bed on Thursday. I swam on Friday as well as usual walking, then did 1.6 miles gentle pace running on Saturday and all good, so did a further 1.3 miles on the treadmill at the gym last night and still feeling OK. Planning a couple of very gentle miles on the roads around the office after work this evening so we'll see how that goes. Frustrating but determined to stick to a sensible plan rather than trying to do more miles and risking it getting worse again. I really want to see if I can get to my 30 mile month though! (And it should be noted that the lovely Starnac ran further than that in a single day already this month - Ultra-distance superstar she is!)

Electrical stuff is *nearly* there now - just a change of a faulty switch in the kitchen, a fiddle with a heater that the controls aren't quite right on, and a new light to be fitted into the kitchen to get rid of a dark spot. Hopefully they're doing those at some stage this week. then it's certification, and time to pay the bill before getting on to the next bit! MrEH is contacting Dave-The-Builder today I hope, with the idea that we should be able to get the final kitchen bits sorted in the next few weeks also. I need to crack on with getting quotes for the hallway work too.

Weekend was fairly low-spendy - did the shopping on Friday, £14.33 in ThaT supermarkeT and just under £5 in Al's so all good there. Cooked a HUGE gammon ham in the slow cooker overnight on Saturday night and that's looking set to make 5 main meals for the pair of us and the scraps have also done a lunch for us both too - definitely a win there for the £10 we paid for it! Bought the new light for the kitchen on Saturday morning - bargain at £13.95 for exactly what we wanted, and Sunday was a NSD. :T

Just checked the bank and all looks fine there - I did the first few bits of CC money shuffle yesterday and will do the remainder when the bill lands. (well I say that but I've just done a few more bits now!)

Reading: Still on the Sheila Quigley but will probably finish that today
Eating: houmous & salad wrap for lunch, rice-bowl with eggs and veggies tonight
House progress: MrEH sorting kitchen snagging, final electrical bits this week hopefully. (Which I also said last week!)
Used Up: fighting with the dregs of a hand cream, working on the kitchen tin drawer.
Bought: Nothing, and no plans to buy anything today, either!
