So you've got it half price and with a £100 shopping voucher, and that's 'rubbish'?!? :huh:0

I think some people wouldn't be happy until Sky are paying them to have Sky TV.
Sky Original is £20, Sky Sports is £27.50, at 50% off that's £23.75 - so Sports is costing you £3.75 a month with £100 voucher and you think that's rubbish?
That quite good actually. Not high in the grand scale of things, some people claim to be able to get 75% or more off, that's more the exception than the norm though.
Don't forget Sky is a business at the end of the day, they're not beaming 400 channels up into the sky for fun.0 -
I am happy with the online deal I found but was saying the online chat operators are rubbish at offering any deals and not prepared to budge or better the deal0

Was happy with that as could of got original for £10 a month plus £15 installation and included a gift but wanted the sky sports, just search for sky offers and you will see the 50% off deals.
Only offering 20% off on sky sports or movies at the moment so they won't budge.0 -

50% off is a pretty good deal for a new customer, so not shocked they couldn't beat it when you spoke to them. 50% is probably their maximum allowed discount as well.
Sometimes they have better offers through 3rd parties (MSE had one recently, Carphone Warehouse etc) but they are the exception rather than the rule.
The 60/75% plus credit offers that Neil Jones mentioned above are usually only for existing customers. So keep an eye out for that next year!
Also, this thread may help you when you come to negotiate next year when your price reverts to 100%

My dad received an email from Sky today saying they will extend his current 12 month deal, 50% discount, for the next 5 years without him having to do anything and no contract!0

Cancelled mine two weeks ago got the 50% for 10 months offer through the post and on the same day 50% off for 12 months on my online account. Will hold out to see what the can offer closer to turn off time0 -
I have cancelled mine today - wasn't getting anything from them - my bill for TV (original) phone and broadband was £29, and was going up to £55, and the lowest I could get it too was £40 for 10 months0

Even with existing customers 75% offers were as rare as hens' teeth, but they are being mean with existing (and recently ex-) customers now. 60% offers have been for very brief periods and, on applying, some have been told that the offer was an error and not available.0
