Non-Refundable Flight - will insurance cover

Searching on-line for Flights or Flight + Hotel.

Some sites ie: Expedia. Found a package with Flight + Hotel which is attractive for August 2017.
Its stated that the 'Trip tickets are non-refundable or transferable'.

So if in an event of health issues etc as a reason to cancel the Trip, would a reputable Travel Insurance cover refund my Trip tickets in the event as mentioned above or would it be tuf.

of course insurance would cover you, thats partly what its for.

however the condition would have to be serious enough to exclude you from travel, a cold/flu isn't going to stop you going on holiday and if the condition is pre-exsisting at the point you buy your insurance and you dont declare it then this could invalidate your insurance.

If it is not only you travelling you need to be aware that there is always the possibility that one person not being able to go doesn't mean you can all not go and claim on insurance. As an example 2 couples or a couple with a child taking a friends child.
