Buying a tassimo

I'm happy with our Nespresso. Perfectly decent coffee - ok it's not going to match up to the finest artisan beans ground with a really expensive grinder and put through a £1000 espresso machine but for those of us who aren't coffee buffs, it makes a good cup that is better than anything you'll get in Costa/Starbucks and miles better than instant.
After reading the reviews we did opt not to get a Nespresso with built in milk frothing (or their own frothing machine) - we got a Pixie and a separate Dualit milk frother jug, which also makes excellent hot chocolate.0 -
Tassimo is limited with coffee choice, I'm getting a Nespresso one next0

Got whatever was on cheap offer in sainsbobs around my birthday (suny?) plus money off pods online.
We use it every day and we're not coffee snobby enough for it to be too bad to drink.
The milk is awful though- I bought a little aerolatte whisk for £18 which does the job brilliantly0 -
I've had 2 tassimo machines with the cheapest one it used to burst pods a couple of times a week but the mid range one never done it.
Once they changed the milk pods I thought the taste was disgusting.
I now have a nespresso with a separate milk frother but I'm finding that I have to use 2 express pods per cup of latte0 -

That's interesting you say that about the milk pods. We (me mostly) use our Tassimo fairly infrequently. I used to like the caramel latte when the milk pods were about 2cm tall. Now the milk pods are much smaller, the taste is very artificial. Not sure if I want to buy any more.0 -
Use my Tassimo about 4 times a day...but then its at work, and the only alternative is the horrible machine 'fresh from the bean' coffee they sell for about £1.40 a cup.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

I've used Tassimos for several years now, at least half a dozen times a day. Started with the T40 which lasted several years then developed a water leak. Replaced with the T20 and also have a Vivy in the campervan.
Never had a problem, extremely easy to use and maintain. Wouldn't be without one.0 -

We've only burst pods when we haven't lined them up right but it's a hell of a mess!0 -
I have a Lavazza Mio. Very happy. Never had a burst pod.0
