So LOVELY to *see* you
How's the camper van? How is your daughter doing? (she was having boiler probs last time you were with us) Thank you for popping in
And I'm glad that you found us again
]
Wow, GP, didn't you do well! What a memory you have too! Our daughter finally got a new boiler (moved to a more sensible place in the house) it virtually cost an arm and a leg of course, but it was managed somehow and the engineer was efficient and a fairly tidy worker thank goodness. All is now well with hot showers instead of cold and no leaks
Our camper has been swapped for a shiny new touring caravan as we will have to spend the whole of February in it now that OH is no longer park warden  We decided that the camper would have been a bit chilly and a tad cramped for a whole month (OH is getting a bit chunky in his old age) :rotfl: It does have a lovely shower room for me too. I like my home comforts!
Our year has been a bit carp really. My lovely father in law was ill from the very start of 2016, I picked up a horrible bug in March which knocked me flat, and FiL died in May just as I was recovering. The poor man had spent 3 weeks in hospital where they tried to keep sending him home to an empty flat despite being 94 and obviously very ill. He picked up several infections and died from bone marrow failure amongst other things.
In October OH then had the Noro virus...blurrgh ......so we are really fed up with 2016. I'll be glad to see the back of it.
Sorry to waffle on, dear GP, but you did ask :rotfl: :rotfl: I'll stop now.
Hope you have a wonderful new year with lots of exciting things to come (though how you can top the excitement of having BG beats me)

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Well, there's always baby brother or sis to look forward to :rotfl:.
Ha ha - ain't gonna happenHad my life turned out differently, I wouldn't have chosen to only have one child. But I'm rolling with how it has turned out and i am keen to achieve 2 things; not be a burden to Baby Greying - they must live their own life and *fly*, in whichever way that turns out to be for them. I hope they grow up to love their auld ma & pa, but I don't ever want them to resent us for holding them back. And I'm keen to enjoy every moment I have as a mum. I didn't think I ever would be someone's mother, but here I am. I have no idea what the future holds, but i've been blessed so far. Even the *rough* days have had their moments of joy, moments of achievement
So, maybe 2017 doesn't have to *top* anything. I think in many areas of my life, I am able to say 'more of the same please' - although 2016 seems to have been 'good' or 'bad' for people - I don't think I have come across anyone who has coasted through the yearSo I'm not surprised at people who want to see 2017, quick, sharp & on the double.
Maybe if I do well with my 12 week challenge, we could be within touching distance of being ready and able to move house? Who knows. That would be a heck of an achievement for me, personally. Although if anybody with influence is reading, and wants to throw in a lottery win for good measure, then I'll accept that......... could you just give me the nod as to which week I have to buy the ticket
little_sweetie - the new caravan sounds fabFunnily enough, we passed a static caravan sales company on Boxing Day, and they had modern statics lined up with ultra-modern ones - gosh, I'm really thinking I could live in one of those
I am sorry to learn of your FiL's death. Not the end of life care we'd want for anyone. Very sad.
Thank you for your good wishes for 2017 - I'm optimistic about it and looking forward to it. I think I'm starting to be a bit more minded to focus on 'family Greying' and 'to Hull' with what other people want to get up to - I'm certainly less bothered and more decisive anyway (well, about more things than I was - still not perfect)
I've done well with some YS'd things. I got 2 choccy teddies (L!ndt teeny ones for 15p ea.) and 3 aubergines (15p ea.) from mrW, some YS'd venison sausages from m&$ (entertaining in the NY) some YS'd cottage cheese - thinking of me figureand h3ron had reduced the mozarellas to 20p each because they were BB today, so I snagged 5 more for the freezer. I'm gonna be sick of mozarella by the end of 2017 :rotfl:
I've lots of things to do, but Baby Greying has fallen asleep on my lap/arm. Dare I try to move?

Lovely yellow sticker haul GP! Though I did do a double take when I saw venison sausages!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
...and one can never have too much cheese! - mozza is perfecto for Friday night posh pizzas!
...in my excitement about the copious amounts of foraged cheese, I forgot to congratulate the OH on his veggie finds! (who buys lemon grass & basil at full price?) Tonight we are having fakeaway stir-fry - heavy on the 'exotic' veg - light on the cluck & all for about 2ish pounds for both of us!
