Good Evening :hello:
Hope that the weather is being kind to you, wherever you are....
I have done various chores today - not, sadly, including gathering together the chazzer stuff. But I did catch most of the rugger match that was going on a Twickers todaySo there is a silver lining
I have made cake (orange fruit cake) and 'sausage' rolls, just in case we go adventurising........
Tea was as slated - the dhal was from the freezer, the rice what was left in the jar (must remember to re-fill), and the sweet potato jalfrezi featured potatoes from HB and peppers (wonky included - *rollseyessmiley*) from mrAl. There is a bit of jalfrezi curry left over :j Some jalfrezi spice :j and some onion/garlic/ginger paste :j Head start on another curry plate, for another time :j
BG has kept up their sleeping marathon/eating marathon routine. They also convinced their papa that they were 'big' and could drink from a beaker, un-aided...... they could not...... sogginess ensued.........
Today I am grateful for these 3 things;
friends including us in their fun
DH's hard work for his little family :j
sporting fixtures freely shared to viewers :T

Yes thank you love, we have had a lovely day thus far, and are enjoying wall-to-wall sunshine too
We went out and about for a pootle this morning, in order to try to avoid the crowds and to not be out and about in the midday sun. We enjoyed ourselves, but wouldn't have wanted to be out any later, than we were. A sandwich, veggie-sausage roll and a lump of cake were enjoyed in a peaceful, shady spot (over the wall/road was heaving.... isn't it odd how that happens?), we got fresh air, views and exercise. Can't ask for anymore than that
Tea this evening will be fish, chips and mushy peas. Because I'm being lazyAnd can't be harrised to make owt from scratch
We won't be going out tomorrow - despite the predicted nice weather, as the roads will quickly become busy, so I'll make sure I make summat from scratch tomorrow for tea instead
I picked up a couple of bits whilst out and about - although I left 4 apples - YS'd to £2 :eek: in m&$, because....... well, just because.... :eek: I got some red onions from mrL for 35p, some cherry toms (350g) for 59p and some salad tomatoes for 62p. The tommies will need a bit of time to ripen, but I thought I would get them for future meals.
Right, I've a baby to bath, cardboard fish boxes to open and a tin opener to find...... 'tis all go at the Towers
Ta for popping by and wishing us well. Appreciated. Always

Nowt wrong with being lazy!Food was had & mama had a bit of a rest! Bellies were filled & the meal was balanced!
Today I 'let' OH make the dinner & it was a right man meal - not a green veg in sight! - Several kinds of root veg & one was a bit orange, but that was as much colour as we had alongside the non-veg bit! We're not hungry & most of the remnants of the veg drawer used up!
We scored today at Marks&Spensives with a huge bunch of celery for 50p - twice the size of the one we usually buy from MrS for 60p :j:j:j small things make me happy :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I see mirepoix in our future...4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Good Morning :hello:
rtandon a good bargain! Apropos of nowt, I've noticed how 'short' cucumbers have become just lately. MrL had them on special last week, but they were so short, they weren't worth more than 35p or whatever they were 'on offer' for
I've a letter to a chum to post today - DH looked after BG yesterday, and I was able to write it uninterrupted, without someone saying, 'mama, I write' every few moments
Tea last night wasn't very inventive, but it did taste nice. It was pasta, with black olives, red pesto, sun-dried tomatoes, red peppers, mini-mozarellas, chopped cherry tomatoes and various bits of herbage and seasoning. I minced the olives, sun-dried tomatoes and peppers up finely. Very ordinary, but very nice.
Not sure what is for tea tonight.
I could have a nsd today, as I don't think that there is anything that we desparately need.
Right, can't thing of owt else to report - definitely not on a :money:vibe, so best vamoose.

So I did end up spending money today. We're very low on toothpaste, so I got some more and picked up a few other bits and pieces whilst my purse was open. As much as anything, if you see an item in HB you have to get it - they seem to be hit & miss with their stocking these days - even of their more 'regular' items. At least they had our favourite idared apples in for a £1 a bag :j
I had the third avocado of 4 from the mrAl pack. So far, so very good, they have been ripe and lovely to eatHope I'm not going to jinx things by saying that they represent excellent value for money thus far.
BG is having a snooze. Wish I could too - feeling a bit frazzled.
Right, best get on with tidying up. Does anyone else get fed up with having to keep every type of coat, hat, waterproof, sun bonnet, knitted tam-o-shanter, gloves, crampons and pick axes, out and available, in order to be able make shopping trips taking into account the vagries of the British weather! We've no where to sit - there is *stuff* everywhere!

Good Evening :hello:
We ended up having mish-mash for teaI made a salad out of tinned new potatoes, chopped up (salad) tomatoes and an oil, garlic and lemon juice dressing - it's from Arto Der Haroutunian recipe - for which there is no link on the net unfortunately
I did my usual beetroot, apple and toasted seed salad - which is a Happy Pear recipe and I steamed some quinoa. I got a couple of pieces of HM vegetable and mozarella bake out of the freezer, which was leftover from when chums were over a couple of weeks ago, defrosted them and warmed them through. Filling, diverse and quite a cheap meal
Baby Greying continues to amaze and amuse us. I'm always fascinated to see them play with 'everyday' objects over their toys and they have a gift of making people smile. We were 'people watching' today, and BG was absent-mindedly waving, and it was nice to see previously frowning/distracted adults notice, and smile. Some of them even waved backFree exchange of joy, all round. We were also very lucky that it was nice and sunny whilst we were out. Sunshine makes everything seem more jolly. BG also took great delight in posting a letter to our chum, and in helping me put items on the conveyor belt in shops, before we paid for them
Today I am grateful for these 3 things;
free fun
achieving some tidying
a frugal, filling tea

I love to see little ones waving and always wave back - I spent many happy hours as a child waving out the back window of the car on the long journey from east Anglia to Aberdeen, it was lovely when people waved back so I see it as repaying the favour!:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0
