Glorious day here - hope you had fun where you adventurised.
Flumps and tomato soup - that's incredible subliminal messaging.
Hats off to you and yours - enjoy your evening!
XOXOXOTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:

Good Evening :hello:
Ha, we didn't end up eating tomato soup last night after all, the day somewhat ran away, so we had baked potatoes (!), fish fingers and beans and the 2 last (small) pieces of pizza.
We have had a day of adventurising, so I'm pooped. We met some new people who where nice and friendly and we got gifted some HG veg :j - runner beans, courgettes and some tommies (red and yellow) picked straight off the vine.....mmmmmmmmmmm
Tea this evening evolved into mushroom stroganoff, as I walked past the mushrooms in mrAl and thought, haven't had mushrooms in a while, what could I??? and it came quick as a flash, 'stroganoff' because I was looking for something to incorporate rice, and it would use up the last of the frozen wine and the last of some yoghurt that we had
No recipe as such, just a lot of garlic and paprika. Gawd 'elp anyone bumping into me for the next couple of days
Today I have - yet again, been grateful for many, many things. But 3 randomly chosen are;
the kindess of strangers - who may well yet, go on to become friends
my DH
hands - extended in welcome, lent and held, today
Ta for popping in. Appreciated.

Good Morning :hello:
Got to shift a tail feather this morning. DH has to be ready to go to work earlier, so I need to get shifting.
Tea this evening will be a buddha bowl of something, I'm hopeful inspiration will strike between now and then, as I've not thought of anything yet.
This is, all in all, a bit of a non-post. I should have engaged my brain before setting fingers to the keyboard. Hope the braincells warm up as the day goes on.....

I did forget to add that whilst in mrA yesterday, I got some of their 'funsize' () easy peeler teeny oranges - they are lovely and sweet and well worth 65p. I also had to get a bag of 7 'funsize' () bananas for 65p as the 12 or 13 pence per banana variety were leaf green
I weighed the bag when I got home - 900g - which made them 72p per kilo, a saving of 4 whole pennies on my grocery shop........ forgive me for not bouncing up and down with delight........I still have the plastic bag to dispose of, as I don't take a bag when buying nar-nars loose.

Ooh, I got some of those bananas yesterday Greying - I was just about to weigh mine but I see Mr Cheery has already eaten a couple so there's not much point :rotfl: Nearly bought the oranges too but I've got most of a bag of satsumas already so not much point.
Hope you have a jolly day! :j Must make my lunch to take to work - still got LOADS of the belgian bread my friend left so I guess it'll be cheese butties again...0 -
Good Evening :hello:
My dearest Cheery I had SUCH a jolly day
Sometimes it saddens me that I don't still have contact with the gal that was 'charged' with looking after me on my first day at primary school, although I remember her well, and know that we share a similarity of having started our families 'later in life'........
Sometimes it saddens me that I left secondary school and moved out of the circles of people that were the same age as me. Although in recent years, of people/families that I know from that time, the news is rarely positive........
Sometimes it saddens me that at University, ours was an unusually small cohort, for the year, and that I have no ties with anyone that eventually completed the course.
Sometimes it saddens me that my trio of 'gal pals' that I made, via work, seemed to disappear into the ether the minute BG appeared on the scene. Despite promises of meet ups, and presents apparently waiting to be handed over, no contact has actually been made. They are busy with their careers and commitments. That I understand and accept. I remain dumfounded as to what has changed about me. Other than that i became a mother. I didn't ever, see that as an issue. But then, I can also see the other sides of the matter......................
Sometimes I talk about how 'hard' it is to make friendships in 'later life'.
Today, I acknowledge that I am one lucky lady. I have at least 5 'firm' friends made in recent years. I think the 'oldest' of those I have made was 10 years ago - and yet they have been an almost constant in my life, due to letters and more recently, e-mail. I also have 2 additional 'friends' that may yet be 'fairweather' - I am currently giving them the benefit of the doubt, as I know their lives are busy. They may well yet pull through to be stalwarts. And if they are 'fairweather', well, then I wish them luck and good wishes for the rest of their lives - I hope they lead wonderful ones
But the one feature of my 5 'new' friends, is, undoubtedly kindness.
And I don't mean 'stuff' given over/gifted. I mean genuine, 'thought for others' kindness.
BG and I were treated to such kindness today, by one such friend. And for that, I am utterly, utterly grateful. This friend put time and love into making us welcome, making us lunch, making us feel at home...... or better than at home... (DH does the washing up, but cooking.... not so much.......;)) Our friend made us comfortable, made us giggle, accomodated our every need, talked with us and listened.
So today I am grateful for;
friendships - Make them.
and for
leaps of faith - Take them.

Aw Greying, what a lovely post, brought a tear to my eye
Tis hard keeping in touch I think. I confess there's only really one or two people I'm in contact with from school, and a couple more from university, but I have an odd load of individual pals dotted round the country who I keep in touch with usually through phone or facebook or something.
Funny how different friends you end up seeing in different situations. Some I rarely see but when I do, it's like there was no gap.
I'm so glad you've got a decent of pals around you, I really amRemember we are your pals too if only virtually :j (I suppose I could technically live right around the corner from you and never even know it! )
If you see some mad woman staring at you suspiciously in the frozen pizza isle of @ldi it might just be me :rotfl: Do come and say hello

My dearest Cheery, regretably, I know that I don't live near youBut this is a good thing - simply because it means that i don't buy up all the smoked tofu in the vicinity - so there is some left for you
But you're right about wondering 'who' lives near yaThe good thing about MSE is that it clearly demonstrates that wonderful, kind, thoughtful, generous and frugal folk are dotted all over the place, and could, indeed, be just along the avenue from you
