I hereby challenge you...on the Solstice meal - to push the boat out BUT for whatever is IN said boat to get served "....with rice" :rotfl: That ought to tick all the boxes, no?!
OK, YOUR RON! EH! I likes a challenge me
Well, we've completed all the necessary chores outdoors thank heavens. I managed to forget bananas, they didn't even make it to my list - even though I personally took the last one this morning :doh: And I also forgot to call in on the little store on the high street to pick up some more windfall apples. The basket was out again,I saw it on the way to the community hub, but came back a slightly different way and forgot to detour :doh:They are generally only out at the beginning of the week.
The lovely receptionist was on again at the community hub. I do hope she's back full-time. It's so nice to be greeted with a smileI left the milk in a bag for life again - it's easier to hand over, easier for them to hand over to the FB staff and they are reused in distribution - and can be handed in for a new one when they are worn out, so almost as good as it can be - I can't afford to give a fabric one each week.... although thinking about it, if they were HM from CS fabric it may be feasible......
If anyone has a h3r0n f00ds in their neck of the woods, they have liberte yoghurt in at the moment - 4 x 100g pots; blueberry, stawberry or honey, at 59p each or 3 for £1. They also have 500g pots of liberte natural yoghurt in at 59p each. I am however disappointed to see that having restocked M3ndip Hills mature cheddar cheese after a hiatus, it has now hit the shelves at £2.49 for 500g - up from £2 for 500g. How can such a raise be justified? I also noticed in....... mr L I think, but it involves 'branded' cheese, so it is not their fault; that 480g is the 'nu' 500g - the price is the same but the quantity reduced...... We'll be expected to pay for a bag of fresh air if quanties diminish anymore.......
greenbee - lush leftovers
Right, Baby Greying has clearly caught a big dose of wriggle-I-tiss, so I'm quitting before they bash the keyboard and the post is lost.

INOD - I don't think I responded to your post about n3xt outlets - sorry! I know that we have one, definitely, it is about 45 miles away though..... But you got me to pondering whether there is one anywhere near the next big city along - something to investigate me thinks. I know that a relative was telling me about an outlet store near them (same area as next big city along), I think that it 'somehow' dealt with many brands - maybe catalogue returns? Not too sure, but I know that they said stuff was cheap as chips - all high-end brands. But as with anything, it was what was there on the day that you went IYSWIM.
Funnily enough, I spotted a n3xt garment again today, that would do for BG - particularly if we really are in for inclement weatherBut I did think that 2.99 was a bit hefty.......... Will have to go for a trawl around the chazzers that are more modest in their pricing for children's clobber. I'm also more likely to donate any 'good' stuff back to them so that they can resell - so they will probably make the same amount of money for reselling 1 garment, several times.

Good Evening :hello:
So tea has been munched. It fitted the criteria of 'from the freezer' as I had put the remaining 2 slices of 'leek bake' from t'other week in there, and it was served with frozen brocolli and green beans - freezer staples. OK, so I did actually buy them today, but they are freezer staples..... :rotfl: I also bought a bag of tatties from h3r0n foods. An expensive way of buying them, but the only way available at present. I forget what variety they were - I'd not heard of them before, but they cooked very well in the microwave and tasted nice. I don't know why, but they took me straight back to baked potatoes at secondary school...... I also shoved a tin of baked beans over the top, courtesy of mrL. Picture here;
Today I am grateful for these 3 things;
seeing a neighbour wearing his poppy, with pride - reminded me to purchase one
time to write e-mails and letters - and that people take time to write them to me.
the microwave - tea would have taken much longer to set on the table tonight without it.
Ta for popping in, reading me and challenging me to do better. Appreciated. Always.

Good Morning :hello:
How I hope that it is sun-kissed and balmy with you this morn. It is a wee bit cold with us........... Definitely a wrapping up in 3 coats day, and that's just for housewear :rotfl::(:rotfl:
We will definitely need to pack in a walk today though. Get some (seriously) fresh air and exercise. I don't currently neeed anything, although a lime would be desirable, but not essential. There's no point in ruining a potential nsd for that or the TV mag, so I'll make sure I either need things, or they can all wait for another day.
Tea from the planner tonight is 'soup' and we've plumped to go down old Mexico way, thanks to Jack Monroe, and we're trying Mexican Chocolate, Chilli & Black Bean soup for the first time.
I hear on the radio that Jimmy Young has passed away. No more, 'What's the recipe today, Jim?'
Ah well, comes to us all. Orft we jolly well go.
Thanks for popping in and reading. Mucho appreciated.

Good old Jimmy Young - reminds me of being at home with my kiddies years ago when we always had Radio 2 on the stereogram in the daytime. No tv blaring out/diverting their attention. Just Jimmy's dulcet tones.0

I keep meaning to say thanks for the Heron Foods suggestion, I actually found one the other day (near Notts Ikea) and was disproportionately excited - had a good mooch round. I think that there is a Jack Fultons in that area too, must check the website.
We have one of those ex catalogue places in the local small town, have looked before but it wasn't interesting enough to make me go back again. Next had one in the city but a lot of the stuff seemed to be made for the outlet shop, I notice Marks do this too.
Soup on the menu here too, forecast says snow!'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
I wouldn't worry about NSDs GP, you're not exactly big on impulse buys and if you need something, and it's on the list, then it shouldn't be an issue. When it's cold and you need to motivate yourself to get out of the house, going out to buy a lime today and the TV mag tomorrow is a GOOD thing. You can always only take the exact money you need...
Must make some soup. But first I have to do some work... and then when the soup is in the thermal bag I can go for a walk (hopefully it will have defrosted outside by then) and see if I can find someone in for a coffee and a chat before my afternoon meetings.
Enjoy your walk!0 -

:rotfl:That is so MSE :T Know that you have already quite, quite made my day - THANK YOU:D:D

Actually, greenbee you make a very, very valid point. Fresh air and exercise are known to stave off depression, and whilst I have been incredibly lucky, and I don't think I've suffered from PND, it was one thing that I took very, very seriously throughout pregnancy. DH was under strict instructions to not balk from telling me I was acting differently, if I did so, and to not shy from seeking help if I refused to get help myself. Apparently, older mums can be more susceptible to PND, and a family friend - we called her 'aunty', but she wasn't a relative - ended up committing suicide after PND morphed into depression following the birth of a child later in life. She was a lovely human being, and a great loss. The family was torn apart, the older children lost mum at vital ages, the youngest child lost mum and their future, as things went down hill from that point with the remaining parent choosing to opt out of their life. Aunty C was very much on my mind when I had 'that' visit from the HV - but apparently I passed the 'Edinburgh' test with flying colours - for which I am most grateful.
As I say, I think I'm OK (well........ as I'm gonna be...... :rotfl:) but getting out and about is important.
And as it happens, I've taken my eye off the ball and have got very low on supplies of a couple of 'mummy' needs - NOT gin!!!:D (and no I haven't got any in the house, don't drink spirits), so will need to make purchases anyway, so no nsd for me! And I'll get a lime and the TV mag anyway. I've a mum chum calling around tomorrow, so if I get out and about, I can chose to stay closer to the homestead, rather than needing to go up the high street.
Right, off I toddle to get wrapped up to head out.

When I lived in a village with a proper shop I used to ration my shopping so I had one thing I needed to buy each day. Sadly now, unless I want chocolate, that would mean getting in the car most days... Enjoy your walk. i'm just off out for mine... once I'm properly wrapped up!0
