What's the point in a lot of things? Cars are full of little gimmicks that don't really have a worthwhile purpose.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0 -

Of course they have a worthwhile purpose.
Their purpose is to convince prospective buyers that they really haven't lived until they've had windows that close automatically when it rains (usually just as you're flicking ash out of them) or lights that randomly turn themselves on & off as you go under some overhanging trees on a dull day so the guy coming towards you thinks you're flashing him.
Of course, once the sale's been completed, their purpose is finished but that's not the makers' concern

Many car accessories are unnecessary but people are convinced that they are essential and don't query them.
I'd only have one electric window in a car, which is the passenger one. Allows you to open the window easily if it is unclear or misted up at a junction for example, teh other three should be manual.
Similarly aircon is largely a waste of time in uk weather conditions, certainly for its supposed main purpose of high temperature in summer, it can be very useful for demisting in cold and wet conditions though.0 -

So what is the car then? I'd love to know so I can add it to my 'avoid because of stupid design' list.0
