Good areas of Hull, Grimsby?

I lived in De La Pole Ave when I was a student (1979 - 81), it wasn't a bad area although the house I rented was a bit ropy. Probably would have made a good fixer-up had people thought about such things as much in those days.
I lived on Ryde St and Grove St as a student 1981-83. It was OK back then. Willerby is nice, and I have a friend who lives near Wyke College and says that area isn't bad.0 -
I knew several people who studied there in the late 70s/ early 80s and loved being there. Had a separate telephone system back then with cream phone booths instead of red ones, and like the Isle of Man, had a separate phone book that was both white and yellow pages together. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0

The student areas mentioned are pretty poor areas now, but properties are very cheap,0

Still is (not sure about the phone book), Kingston Communications have a monopoly over land lines and broadband access in Hull.0 -
Whilst Hedon is nice, it is low-lying and flooded quite badly a few years ago (DH's cousin lives in a newish build there). Lots of the area is very flat.
DH grew up near East Park and then Cottingham. Houses are ok but no idea what the area is like now, sorry.0 -
How much are you wanting to pay for a house?0

I work in Hull but live in keyingham about 8 miles east and have also lived in hedon. Hull it's self is not a place I would be investing in with a btl. There are however quite a few bargains in the east of hull villages
