Stopping TV from toppling over?

You can get stands which have the VESA fittings of a wall-mount on them.
Of course, then the question would be how to stop the whole shebang stand + TV falling over.
Alternatively, some kind of bracket/corners (in matching wood?) on the edge of the base of the TV would prevent lateral movement.
Another option would be to put the TV into an enclosed cupboard unit, but that would require buying one.0 -
I was thinking of something like this.
just picked one that is suitable for the size of TV and a heavy plasma that should cope with a lightweight LCD

Its easy to make my tv wobble but difficult to tip it over. It is unlikely to tip over from a bouncing floor.0

Are you sure your floor is ok? No signs of damp affecting joists?!?

How did you come to the conclusion my TV stand was 1.5 kg?
What solid oak TV stand that can take a 58" TV do you know of that weighs only 1.5kg? :rotfl::rotfl::shocked:

I have a 32" tv secured to the stand by straps at the back, screwed into the underside of the back of the stand. I cannot see the straps from the front, and when I lean it to see where they're secured, I can't see where they're screwed in.
I do know that without those straps, my tv wouldn't last candlelight. We have not one but two huge cats who like to pretend they're monorail cats.
I'm amazed the tv is still standing, straps notwithstanding.I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

Wouldn't it easier and cheaper to have a polite word with your neighbours? If they don't believe you, give them a demonstration.0

not the wooden table, the stand that the TV came with
that is 1.5kg and is of a design that will not give the TV decent support if what it is on is moving even a small amount.0 -
Ahh i get you now. Yeah i've wondered that. For the price & size it's a bit flimsy isn't it.
There's about 4 settings. We've tried 2. We had the stand like the picture you posted but with the straight bits pointing forwards.
Then we changed it to like your image but at the edges of the TV - which is how it currently sits.
Didn't notice any difference really. TBH i don't think there'll be any difference between any of the 4 options. It's probably just for looks.0
