Council's & Planning Permission - urgent advice required

  • Can you let us know which Council this is, as the Local Plan will be published on the website?

Good morning: The OP can confirm, but I believe the relevant council is Thanet District Council (based on her description of the development and her ownership of another property, as described in another thread, in Margate) although I could be wrong;) All relevant info is available on or through the council website. As an aside, we just received a letter from TDC this morning advising of a planning application across the road (also yellow, plasticised notices are prominently displayed outside as well. Details should be available on the website within 5 days from date of letter's receipt)

Some do inform immediate neighbours - and those nearby. I guess it depends on their resources and processes. But this is "an extra" as they have no duty to do so.

I guess, if you think about it, how far do you go? There will always be a "boundary" with residents outside the boundary not being informed - and then they complain, so the boundary is extended and before you know it, the Council is writing to everyone in the County :rotfl:

We all seem to have far too het up over development, in recent years. Understandable, up to a point, but the pressure is clearly on developing on sites where there is already development, IFSWIM - including "brownfield" rather than "greenfield" sites. Is it right? There will never be agreement on that one ;)

If you want to live somewhere where there is no or very limited development, then starting reading the Local Plans. This is precisely why Central Government forced Local Authorities to spend millions into producing them!
    Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac ;)
