Mechanics of Stocks and Shares ISA

Hi all,

I am coming into receipt of a few shares from my company scheme and I am thinking of holding onto these shares.

Can I shelter these shares under a S & S ISA? If yes, how do I go about it?

Thanks!

You definitely can, you must transfer them within something like 30 days from when the option is exercised.

I suggest you contact your ISA provider, and they will usually provide a form to complete to action the necessary transfer.

I wouldn't go that far - if they're publicly-traded shares quoted in a reasonably mainstream market then chances are they'll be available through some or even most ISA managers, but it's not a complete certainty for every single share!
