Section 75 dispute over Lowcostholidays

It's a valid question. It seems to be the viewpoint of the CC company.
Which airport were you flying to? It is difficult to believe that nothing was available, even in the busiest of resorts.
Unfortunately, it was during the school summer holidays and very short notice from the announcement being made to our departure date. The cost of the hotels available was far above my available budget with no time to raise more funds to pay their extortionate prices.0 -

You asked for a view on the situation. I'm sorry if my view upset you.Just checked back on my previous posts/replies and I noticed I didn't ask for your view on how hard I tried to look for alternative accommodation.
I believe it confirmed the view that S75 didn't apply to your available flights.I thought this forum was supposed to help people who asked for advice?0 -

It was your view/judgment on how hard I tried looking for alternative accommodation that I found inappropriate. Your advice regarding possible solutions to the situation is appreciated.0 -
That's different to there being no availability. You could explain that to the CC company to see if they might reconsider. If you find yourself in a similar situation again, seek advice from them before rebooking.
Thank you for your help. I'm going to keep trying with the CC company but appreciate i may not get a resolution with which I'm happy.0 -

You'll find similar with the credit card company, You may have been able to claim consequential losses if you paid extra, however you would have needed to have paid out first. As far as the credit card company can see is you bought flights and they were available.
its a shame your car didn't break down on the way to the airport to get the flights and your travel insurance may have covered you0 -
. It's so frustrating when you make a payment for both elements in good faith, relying on both the flight and accommodation together, and then there's no recourse when one of the elements fails.
Whilst you may have made the booking and paid in good faith, as other users have pointed out you didn't actually book a package holiday.
Lowcostholidays acted as an agent in arranging your flights and accommodation but it was not a package holiday and this was made clear in their T&C's as it is with many other online travel agents. Your Ryanair booking stood and wasn't reliant on the accommodation.
I appreciate this may not be the advice you might have hoped for.0
