Nobody knows how many 'suppliers' you have personally, nor who they are, so - yes, you have to take control of this yourself.
The agencies that promise to do this for you will only do this for the 'suppliers' they are affiliated with, which will only cover a small fraction of what you need.
Here's a list of who you need to tell that you're moving -

Banks (High Street and Online)
Book or Music Club Subscriptions
Broadband Supplier
Building Society
Burglar Alarm Servicing or Monitoring
Car Insurer, Car Clubs (AA, RAC etc)

About pension providers, I have a standalone AVC with the same provider as my works pension. I advised them of my new address but they wrote to me about the AVC using my old address the following year.0
