Just wondered if anybody would be able to help me?
I have currently got a ADSL modem to connect my pc to the internet. The modem has a RJ11 connecting it to my pc and no other ports. I wish to buy a wireless router but I’m unsure what sort of router I need?
I noticed in argos some have different speeds, now I have a 8mb internet connection and I want to get the most out of that for my online gaming with my xbox 360.
Any advise would be fully appreciated.

RJ11 is a telephone line connector and does not connect between a modem and PC. You need an ADSL wireless router like one of these here. If your broadband speed is up to 8Mbs, an 802.11/g (54Mbs max) router will be fast enough. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

So why do you think that a 54Mb wireless router is not fast enough? 54Mb is the maximum data transfer rate but in real life you could expect approx half of that, which is still six times 4.5Mb.

Ok, me bein thick i guess. I thought the router would lose speed for each connection. This is really good news for me though. Does anyone know of a really really cheap but good router i could go for?
Yes, Thomson SpeedTouch 585 54M Wireless ADSL2+ Router refurbished, £16.99+delivery, its an excellent router and one I use myself, and very easy to set up.
