Engine oil level too high. Should I worry?

I don't see how slight over filling would increase the oil pressure. That will be determined by the pressure relief valve.
You're right, of course. It won't make the slightest difference to the oil pressure and, even if it did, none of the seals in an engine are subjected to oil under pressure.
All the pressurised oil lives in metal galleries cast into the block and head which feed assorted bearings. As soon as the oil escapes from those bearings it's no longer under pressure and the various seals just stop it splashing out and contaminating the optional rear brakes.0 -

The person I think you are has absolutely, positively, never claimed not to be the person they've ultimately turned out to be, so clearly, despite all the evidence to the contrary and the quite remarkable, one might almost say incredible, similarities in content and posting style, logically, you cannot be that person.
Or something.
Furthermore, your Honour, in the absence of you actually naming the poster you're thinking of, how can he be sure he's not that person unless he's intimately familiar with the history as only either a long-term member (which he's not) or the person in question would be?0 -

Ah, the 'I've never heard of that bloke who wasn't mentioned till I brought him up' defence...0

Serious question though; out of interest how far down would the oil be - could you get it out with a kitchen baster?0 -
Too much oil doesn't really increase oil pressure, it causes the oil to foam up as crankshaft slaps into it, this then makes life very hard for your oil pump and seeing as an engine relies on a constant flow at constant pressure, foamed up oil is not going go down well.
Keep your RPMs down and get it sorted out asap.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

What's with the syringe malarkey. There's a nut at the bottom of the sump, turn this anti-clockwise and oil will come out, when enough has come out turn it clockwise and tighten. If you take too much out put some back in at the filler cap. It's not bleedin' rocket science.0

On most cars you have to get sump plug almost all the way out before oil will flow, it would be very easy to accidentally drop all of your oil.
Additionally, it's bad practice and you might not get a good enough seal, which is literally a deadly threat to bikers.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Here in the real world though, people have been re-using sump plug seals for decades without a problem. I must have replaced a handful in the 25 years I've been changing oil and I've never had a leaky sump plug yet.
I DO agree it's not 'best practice', and I DO agree that oil on the road is bad for bikers, but I don't think it's fair to state categorically that the approach suggested will inevitably result in leaks, death, squashed nuns, kittens, and children.
I also agree that the practicalities of the approach suggested above are difficult to accommodate, since putting a sump plug back in after a measured amount of oil has come out is bloody difficult.
Syringe is the best option if one has to actually do this.0 -
Plus syringe equals less mess and effort. Not everyone has access to ramps at home to get under car plus who wants to roll around on the ground in October with the possibility of getting covered in oil when you release that sump plug!0
