Tip for cancelling Orange Broadband

I currently have an Orange mobile contract and I also have their £5 a month broadband offer. I'm moving house and phoned to cancel and they told me I'd have to pay a £40 cancellation fee. The customer services assistant let me into a little secret, if you downgrade to the free broadband offer (you can also do this online), then cancel that, there is no cancellation fee, mwahaha
I've done it online now, they are sending me a new modem and a bag so I can send back my Livebox free of charge. Then I'll be cancelling altogether in a few weeks when I move

Oo.. could you tell me WHY youdont want to be with them anymore? are they pants?
Im with AOL at the moment, and was thinking of going for the £5 per mth thing with Orange.. your post has made me wonder about it now :eek:I'll get my SOA on here soon
I'm £38.000 (2 loans and lots of cards) in debt. I'm still able to pay all the payments for now. (just) and am Snowballing my payments, throwing all I can at them, and trying to be very money savvy. They are coming down SLOWLY, but hey! down is better than UP right? Light bulb moment - Jan 20070 -
they are worse than pants, far worse
Try this http://www.orangeproblems.co.uk/phpBB2/

I am on the final lap of getting shot of them and good riddance !!0 -
Bimble I actually had a great experience with Orange, it's just I'm moving house and my boyfriend is a bit of a geek and wants BeThere unlimited so we're getting that instead lol
I was with them a little over a year, their customer services actually knew what they were talking about (unlike BT) and not once did I lose my internet in that whole time, mustn't grumble

It's no secret. I tell everyone who's on £5 and calls to cancel, but moans about the cancellation fee, regrade to Free BB, then cancel. The customer services assistant let me into a little secret, if you downgrade to the free broadband offer (you can also do this online), then cancel that, there is no cancellation fee, mwahaha
Free BB Regrade = 12 month contract. Cancellation fee for Free Broadband = £0.00
