Post Office Car Insurance - Canceling Advice
Hi
I would really appreciate some advice I currently have car insurance with the post office when I called on the 27th sep they said they needed to change my policy because I have decals on my car. I panicked and agreed to the changes as I was at work and they told me I would not be insured other wise. The total of the insurance comes to £710 paid monthly.
I then went on holiday on the 6th October I am now back at home and have found I can get the same insurance for £372. I am now worried how much it will cost to cancel the existing policy I have tried looking though my documentation and cannot find any information.
I know this is my fault for panicking but I would welcome any advice.
Thank you for reading.

That's not the question that was asked.
You surely didn't start the policy on the 27th.
When was your first policy with the Post Office - i.e how many years have you been with them?
When was the last renewal date?0 -
I have only been with them this year my original renewal date was the beginning of june. The details in my account login are VAUXHALL ASTRA, HY
Policy Start Date 27/09/2016 PolicyEnd Date26/09/20170 -
Cancelling this policy which is approx 4 months old could be very expensive.
The only way to find out for sure is to phone them tomorrow morning and ask.
Don't expect the cost for the time you've been covered to be 4 twelfths of the annual premium though.
Good luck.0 -
What sort of decals make a difference to insurance costs0

Perhaps the kind that show that the policyholder is actuarially a much higher risk of claiming? What sort of decals make a difference to insurance costs
There was this case a few years ago : http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-south-west-wales-310649980 -
Decals or sign-writing perhaps as advertising would show a possibility of business use.
I know that a police check would look very carefully at a vehicle with decals which only had social & domestic insurance.0 -

Why do you know it?
Are you a police officer or just making it up?
You're making it up aren't you?0 -

I'm neither a police officer nor making it up.
I had decals/stickers for a charity appeal on my van and had a looooooong discussion at the roadside with traffic police who had stopped me in a routine check-point.
They queried that my insurance covered me for such 'commercial activities' as picking up donations for the charity.
They went so far as contact the charity to check that I was an unpaid volunteer.
Happy with that explanation, Walt?0
