I've just upgraded my vodafone contract they offered me half price for 9 months and a new phone. Had the new contract details sent to me stating new contract end date Sept 2008.
To my horror i've just opened the bill and they've changed it to a minimum term 18 month contract not a 12 month.
What can i do, i suspect this is something to do with the Stop the clock he offered to put on the contract but i've been stitched up, i only agreed to a 12 month deal. Any advice before i give them a call.

The networks have been changing people onto 18 month contracts without their knowledge for a while now.
You have a cooling off period, so lucky you found out now.
The fact that it is half price for 9 months, as opposed to 6 months was a clue that you were being placed on an 18 moth contract.
Simply phone them up and see what they can do, if they don't offere anything good, ask for your PAC code and look elsewhere.
I always get written confirmation of what contract I am being offered before agreeing to 'Upgrade' my contract.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -
Stop the clock is only available on priceplans which are available on 18mth contract, so the chances are what has happened is the sales advisor has added stop the clock, then reset your contract back to 12mths, however because you still on the 18mth priceplan, it will show on the bill regardless of what you contract length actually is (hope that makes sense).
If you've had a conformation letter stating your contract ends in Sep 2008, that's when it will end.

Stop the Clock is on both 12 & 18 month contracts either as a freebie in the deal or as an add-n costing a fiver. So even though someone has STC they can be on a 12mth contract.Wondering how to have a life & not rack up more debts...0
