  • freesat is satellite i.e. connect it to your dish, but since you may not have a dish if you move i linked to the freeviews., freeview is over a terrestial aerial(rooftop/loft/room)

What is the difference between Freesat and Freeview?
One comes via an aerial and one via satellite. The channel line ups are not quite the same but you can go to their respective websites to see what channels are on each platform.

Just to add that if you use Freeview you will need a good signal from a normal roof or loft aerial with one lead to the Freeview box, if the box has a hard drive in it you will be able to record as well. You can also watch one channel whilst recording another.
For Freesat you need a Freesat box connected to a satellite dish, if you want to record you will need two wires from the dish to a Freesat box with a built in hard drive.
There are many makes of Freeview and Freesat boxes but generally Humax boxes are good value, easy to use and reliable.

I find the BT Youview box is better than Humax.

You can buy a re furbished Youview box on eBay.
