    +1 for Bitdefender.
    BUT, I've found in some rare instances it will remove 'safe' programs, e.g. Product Key finders, and not let you retrieve them from quarantine.
    Move along, nothing to see.

    You have to use online banking, so a current account is required AFAIK.

    I use avast, but I find it a bit shouty; pop-up toast with ads for other avast stuff that I don't want etc

    Do a custom install and you only really need the "file shield" and "web shield", and "mail shield" if you use an email client. And maybe "home network security" and "software updater" and turn silent mode ON.
