I typed my question trying to be as concise as possible whilst giving all the relevant information, I previewed my thread and it looked far too long for anyone to want to read so here is my trimmed version!
Ikea delivered a table and 2 chairs, table and 1 chair were faulty, contacted them described faults with pictures attached, they replied arranging collection, they did not use the word faulty. Ikea collected the furniture and refunded me 2 days later, but no refund of delivery charge. I’ve taken small portions from their T&C’s as follows
Damaged items, ………. However if we are unable to do so we will refund you with the full amount you have paid for the product(s) together with any relevant delivery charges. Returning your items………… For all online purchases returned after 14 days you are responsible for the cost of returning the product(s) unless the product is faulty or not as described, in which case we will refund any reasonable costs you incur in returning it to us. If you are returning your product(s) because they are faulty or incorrect, no collection fee will be charged
Since they didn’t charge me a collection fee they must have accepted the goods were damaged?
I have emailed them twice asking “My question is why have you not refunded the delivery charge? it would seem I have paid to have faulty goods delivered. Is this contrary to the Sale of Goods Act 1979, I look forward to hearing from you”, each time I get the Auto reply - We aim to reply within 5 days. It is now 14 days since my first of 2 emails, last email sent 7 days ago. Your thoughts or any advice welcome, thank you.

No I returned both, this is from my email to them -
Unfortunately there are faults with the chrome finish on the table; one side part had a “thin” coating of chrome which has now turned into Rust spots. On the top of the legs there are raised lumps of chrome, one is so rough it pulls the fibres from a duster. There is also a small black mark within the polycarbonate on the back rest of one of the chairs
I wish to return the table and 2 transparent chairs, please advise.
Was this the wrong thing to do?0 -
I'm saving that privilege as a last resort, having already spoken to them regarding the return I can honestly say one department has absolutely no connection to the other. I simply want to know is it worth pursuing.0

How long did you have them before you complained?0 -
Thank you for taking the time to reply, trying to keep my post short only resulted in presenting less valid information.
