They don't bother me lol just looking for a card to temp put a few thousand on but looking for the right card to offer protection if case they went bust, idea as they don't credit check and need some to put money to save leaving it in my house
  • Prepaid cards tend not to offer FSCS protection.

Look into basic bank accounts and savings accounts.

Basically my dad wants to put money away to stop certain people knowing about it because he is going bankrupt if this is morally right is a other subject.

I got him in debt so he doesn't see why he should give up money he has work for

Since the demise of the Secure Trust Bank prepaid current account, prepaid cards/accounts with FSCS protection don't exist. You're mainly stuck with the issuer's track record: If they've been going for a few years and don't have any black clouds on their horizon they are unlikely to go bust now. Well, maybe not.

Mostly to the new breed of Basic Accounts offered by the banks: That was stated to be the reason why Secure Trust Bank withdrew it's current account. There are quite a large number of prepaid accounts and cards available but none of them with FSCS protection.

Secure Trust Bank itself is a fully-fledged bank, a subsidiary of Arbuthnot but other prepaid accounts use the services of external banks, some in a tree of issuer and bank.
