See my first post, a handi-board, 9mm plasterboard which is the size of 1.8mx0.9m weighs barely over 10kg! there's nothing better for this purpose...
it's not heavy... even the full size 12mm plasterboards aren't really that heavy at 25kg..

What are you doing with your loft? Storage? It's not a habbitable room, is it?
It sounds like he used Hardboard. If you want something better than that then use Plywood.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0
