Enrolled today - No grant, Loan or Bursary! How do I pay the fees?

At the moment I am fine, thats not a problem at all. However, I am worried about the deadline now!
If the application is delayed and isnt sorted out before the deadline for the tuition fee, what would happen? Wont I need to pay it myself? Which I can do BUT will happen once the application is successful? Does the Uni get the money? (would mean they have double the amount), how long would the refund process be?
Got myself in a right mess, last thing I need!
Thanks for the advice, much appreciated!

Refund process wont be easy, but then to be honest its your own fault for not sorting it out!
I know of people who have took a very long time to get the money back.Green and White Barmy Army!0 -

Right first of all if you have filled in the Student Finance application stop worrying(I know easy for me to say)
I only got into uni last year through clearing as it was a very last minute decision so had not sorted any finance out either. Because I filled in the SF application as soon as I got in that was fine with uni. I did have a worrying moment when I went to enrol and they wanted copes of the SF forms saying they were going to pay for me but the uni was fine about it. Even some students who had applied in advance had problems with their paperwork coming through. Think the uni can just check that you have applied and will wait.
I enrolled and started on my course before the money came through. Just about to start 2nd year and it has gone through much more smoothly this time!0 -
Oh dear moe,
You're going to be waiting a while if you only applied the other day.
Yes, send your passport Special Delivery, just in case Royal Mail loses it. Not the cheapest option, but definitely cheaper than replacing your passport!
Hope you get something sorted soon x
If you can, I'd take it down to the LEA office in person and get them to photocopy it (which is what they do when they get your passport in the pose) and then you can take yours back, safe and sound?0 -
I agree with above post. Go to the local LEA, prob where you are uni based & have them photocopy any documents required.
Re the tuition fees, I believe they will ride it until about the 1st Oct by which time if the SLC haven't gotten back to you you may then expected to pay 1/3rd of your fees & then apply for a refund of said fees once the SLC forward payment to the uni. This would be better as I hear it's pretty time consuming trying to get any refund so retrieving a 1/3rd is better than trying for the whole lot.
Hope it all gets sorted for you very soon. Enjoy yourself in the meantime & be better prepared next year0
