P4Parking Edinburgh

Help needed please.

Had a babysitting emergency at the weekend (my kid) had to park at a friends flat in town and forgot to put permit on the car- came down to parking ticket in the morning.

I have tried to appeal it using their appeals process but just heard back today that they have denied my appeal.

Where do I go from here? It is at £60 for the next 2 weeks then goes up to £100.

Thank you for any responses

Of course P4 will reject it, scammers just want your money

I am sure P4 know that Edinburgh is in Scotland

Hope you did not name the driver, if not bye bye P4
  • Unfortunately in my appeal I gave my name. Didn't know not to. Was trying to be good and honest...

Show us exactly what you said in your appeal. Then we can give you appropriate advice.

ok , you have said you were the car owner , but it looks like you are saying the baby sitter (another person) was using the car and forgot the permit

they will now harass you by saying you "must" name the driver or they will chace YOU , however in order to do that they must comply with the POFa 2012 , guess what ? it is not law in Scotland

stop all communication immediately , only return if you get physical court papers (not threats from debt collectors) OR if any paperwork you have or receive mentions POFa 2012

PS they do a lot off court (not) http://www.bmpa.eu/companydata/P4_Parking_UK.html

Well you've messed that up in terms of identifying the driver. So that's all they need to proceed with this via court.

But the very good news is that a vanishingly minuscule number of private parking cases have ever been presented to the Sheriff Court in Scotland and I'd be utterly gobsmacked if P4P decided to pop their cherry in Scotland when they've never ventured anywhere near a court in E/W where success would probably be much easier for them.

Suggest you ignore everything from them from here on (there may well be a bit of a blizzard of letter hassle, but hold your nerve) short of any legal papers being issued. Highly unlikely, but come back if anything received. Main advice - relax and ignore!

File and retain anything you receive from them.

I am not so sure that identifies the driver. ScotMum you need to relax and ignore this and you should have Googled it, loads of Scottish newspaper articles tell you that private parking tickets are just waste paper in Scotland!

I expect you've read this one from the other day when you searched the forum for the word 'Scotland' or 'P4Parking', looking for similar cases first as you would on any forum before posting:
