New Kitchen - Who should I be considering?

My wife is doing the kitchen and wants to spend around 13k on doing most of it which includes units, appliances and fitting. We're getting someone independent to fit it.
What options should I considering for buying the units. My wife is thinking Ikea. Who and what else is out there that is worth thinking about?

I purchsed my last kitchen from Howden and my previous one from Ikea. Both good but I'd recommend the Howden one over the Ikea one.If my posts have random wrong words, please blame the damn autocorrect not me0

Have you looked at diy kitchens? if you are anywhere near their showroom (Pontefract) it is well worth a visit, they have a row of units side by side to show the difference between them and others such as b&q, howdens, ikea etc I was quite impressed, compared to ikea they arrive fully constructed complete with doors, drawers & mechanisms fitted instead of flatpack plus 8mm back panel compared to 3mm for ikea and the doors are all bespoke drilled, just my 2 pence worth lol, good luck with new kitchen0

Ikea is below your budget. It definitely serves a purpose and I wouldn't buy a kitchen with a tight budget anywhere else but if you have a bit more, I would spend it on something with a rigid carcass.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Just had a look at their website and searched for cabinets, worktops, doors etc and they don't have any according to their website. Its a very basic website that only seems to sell appliances and taps..0 -
We've used B&Q for two kitchens both very nicely fitted, both delivered, installed and finished on time.0

I'm using a small local company, but providing my own oven, hob, extractor, sink, dishwasher etc. This company are very reasonably priced (no huge fancy showroom costs; they have moved to smaller premises) and encourage you to go along to the competition and compare the quality of their units, which are made to measure and not limited by DIY outlet sizes. (A special item pointed out for checking was the finishing of edges on internal shelving)0

Bit late to the party, but we bought our cabinets from Handmade Kitchens of Christchurch. Currently in the process of fitting them and are very happy with the qualityMortgage-free for fourteen years!
