BT youview+ wireless??

Hi i have a BT Youview+ box which is now out of contract and i want to move upto the kids bedroom, but i would like to know if this will work wirelessly, or do i need to have a cabled connection
it was used in the lounge and wired via ethernet into the BT Hub, but ive now got a new BT box in there,
does the old box have wifi capability, ive been looking on BT's help pages and theyre saying not, and i need a electrical adaptor, thats plugs in, or extra long ethernet cable (which isnt an option)
is it as simple as buying a wifi adapter, or not
thanks

I don't think you can use them wirelessly.
You'll need to buy homeplugs (sometimes called powerline adaptors).0 -
As above no wifi .0

thanks
i read about these powerline adapters, they send the signal through the electrical cabling is that right.
so would i need 1 by the router and 1 upstairs by the box,
i'll have to look at the cost of these, might be cheaper to just get a cheap tv stick.its only a bargain, if you need it or will use it.

Could be added via an Wi-Fi client though:

Yes you would need 2 but i think they come in a pack of 2 anyway. Be warned though. They are not in the slightest bit reliable. Some people have no issues but in some houses they simply dont work at all.0

It's often the way the ring main(s) is/are wired or the RCD box that's used that causes issue as opposed to the powerline adaptors themselves.0 -
thanks, i think i might just go with a Fire stick or something similar, theres not much difference in price, and as i already have a Roku stick i know they work properlyits only a bargain, if you need it or will use it.

I have tplink that supplies two ethernet sockets and extends wireless range. I use a couple of them around the house and one of them for my youview box and samsung tv/xbox one0

Wouldn't work if the OP is using BT Home Hub, as it won't send the multicast data via wifi, only via ethernet.0 -

Those 2 sentences don't belong together. I find them extremely reliable and easy to install, on a sample of a grand total of 2 houses. Plug them both in, press a button on each, and that's it. I've had to reset mine on average once a year. If it doesn't work due to your wiring, that's not the products fault.0
