I had this letter twice


We are sorry to hear that you have been involved in an accident with one of our policyholders.


We note that you do not wish to take advantage of the free services we have offered to repair your vehicle and provide you with a suitable alternative vehicle whilst your own was being repaired.


You do not have to take advantage of the above facilities. However, if we are later presented with excessive repair or hire invoices we will rely on the fact that we offered the above services to you entirely free of charge in seeking to settle your claim.

Please be particularly careful if you have been approached to take a hire car on a credit basis as you could be faced with substantial charges for this.


You should be aware that insurers routinely pass information to various databases in the course of handling claims. The aim is to help us to check the information provided and to help prevent fraudulent claims. We will pass information relating to this incident to databases and, in dealing with this claim, we will search the databases.


You are entitled to seek legal advice at any stage of your claim from your legal expenses insurer, solicitor or bodies such as Citizens Advice Bureau. You have six years to issue proceedings where there is property only damage and three years in the case of personal injury.
