I don't think it's transferring it into Lloyds that is the problem - llloyds will happily accept the transfer or the cheque. It's when you try to transfer large amounts out afterwards that the problems begin...0

Probably planning increasing outward capacity for January when both Lloyds and Halifax cut rates/rewards.
