  • Now received a letter from the debt collector asking for £160... I hope it is not going up any more if I lose in the court and this is the final amount I am looking to pay. Though I am willing to go through the whole procedure with the county court to learn a lesson but I am not prepared to pay any more than £160.

That's all right then, seeing as if you lose at a hearing in the end, that's almost exactly the typical amount a person is told to pay (approx £150 - £175, typically). There are no huge add-ons and no solicitor's costs. And that's if you LOST!

On this forum we've never lost a Gladstones claim yet because none have proceeded to a hearing (so far) all discontinued. We will assist with a decent defence which you will be involved in putting together, so you will understand it. The whole thing can be considered a life experience, no risk because the sum at stake is the same as it is now.

Ignore debt collector letters. Do not worry about it, do not phone them, do not pay.

OK so read other threads about a Gladstones LBCCC and send a robust response that you will be happy if a Judge later reads.

Another update- I have not yet received any letter taking me to court and I simply ignored the previous letters from Gladstones.

I am prepared to hear from these people any time during the following 5 years though.....
