Which company to choose for Line, all calls & BB.

I have been looking on MSE for a while and now I am within 2 weeks of the end of my contract with TalkTalk. I have narrowed it down to three companies with any time calls package & BB.

EE.............18 months £25..............I have a contract with EE for my mobile.
Plusnet......12 months £25.99 plus £50 CB
Sky............12 months £25.40 plus £50 M&S voucher

I have looked at Quidco and their CBs are confusing.

They are more or less the same as I can see, which is the best and which is the worst? Which would you go for?

Thanks.

EE and Plusnet are BT .
I would be looking at 12 month contracts not 18 months .

I would go with EE. If you give them your EE Mobile number you will get a couple of quid a month off.

Caller display and voice mail is free.
Minutes to mobiles is included in the call package.
  • I would go with Plusnet or Sky as their customer service is better than others (though by no means perfect). I'd actually choose Plusnet as M&S voucher not much use to me.

There is an MSE referral page at https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2404513
if you decide on Plusnet to help another MSE'er (and still qualify for the £50 direct from Plusnet).

PlusNet let you do line rental saver , reducing the line cost to £15.49, so £23.49 or £24.48 with caller display.

EE also do LRS, but Sky don't.

    Thanks for all the advice.

    BT

Less £99.75 TCB or £95.00 through Quidco.

About £24, not £11.57. Slightly less than the ones I quoted.

Looks good, 18 months, no quids off but 5gb data boost and inclusive calls to land lines in 40 countires, not that I will use much of those.

£290.50 up front then £7.50 a month, less Quidco £60.

I have taken this deal, the only unexpected thing was a £25 charge on the first bill for fibre activation.

I was advised that change over would be today. Very early morning the phone line clicked and there were odd periods during the day when we could not make or receive a call. Mobiles were on standby.

At 19.20 this evening I got a text to say it was ready.

I connected the modem and entered the wifi password and it was up and running.

I did a speed test which gave the following results -

    Ping 296 ms Download 11.04 Mb/s Upload 1.54 Mb/s

    At 10.45pm these were - Ping 159 Download 30.65 Upload 1.00

Download speeds with TalkTalk over the last few days varied between 0.64 and 5.26Mb/s and uploads between 0.9 and 1.02Mb/s. Ping varied between 2381 and 7671 ms.

I hope this info may help others to decide what to do.
