For that reason alone I'd advise against it. Imagine if either of them were poorly and you're having to deal with that.
I've got two girls aged 4 & 6 and when they've been ill, the last thing I'm interested in is opening the laptop to come on here.
Personally, I think if we don't get anybody to do it then it's no big deal. The threads all get bumped anyway so don't see a problem (unless I'm missing something?)0 -
Boards will be manic if they aren't collated into a thread, not everyone sorts by posted so they wont see them all.
How about I start the thread, that I can do later tonight, then when I need to step back as they are added to back of the thread it will still be easier than no list at all.
I always worked from the back of the advents list as i could swipe them into my own folders and use the thanks as a marker of what I had added.
If people agree I can get the thread up later tonight but I can't promise to do it all December.#JusticeForGrenfell0 -
I wont do anything unless people here agree/disagree with my post above, Not heard owt from Glad either.

I'll start the thread in a bit but will need people to do as they do most years to add them to the end, more so this year as I am generally a twitter comper these days and literally do mags and end list on mse and scoot back to twitter so wont see the new ones posted.
Plus when Jess has her op its total downtime for me, i'm also having a conservatory built so things a bit full on to commit.

I've asked Glad for a sticky, I'll tidy the thread as we go along#JusticeForGrenfell0 -
thanks Toni - I'm happy to do my bit by adding to the thread even though I could not devote the time to running it
hope all goes well with Jess' op0 -
Toni, I personally love the advent thread, thank you so much for agreeing to run it again. I certainly wouldn't not to have it each year, yes I have folders of instants but I go through the advent thread everyday for the duration. xxThink it's about time the comping fairy remembered where I am! lol0

not a criticism, but, advents seem to be being added in alphabetical order, rather than putting the newest at the top of the list? don't people usually like to see what's the newest on the list?
[edit]
just seen the bit about links added in red have been added in that day. ain't that more work?0 -
Just my opinion and not meaning to be disrespectful to anyone
but.........What is the point of starting An Advents thread when there is no volunteer to carry it on into December?
The Advent thread will need someone with a LOT of spare time to run it and as many have already said they simply can not do it for this reason.
Huge respect to Toniq for starting the thread, but as she has already said she cannot continue it into December as her daughter is having an operation obviously her daughters well being has to be her priority.
Should we not hold off on an Advent thread until we have a definite volunteer who can run the thread the whole of December?
If there is no volunteer then they will simply have to be posted on the daily thread.“I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints.” - Billy Joel
