    That's exactly what I was thinking.
    If you are not au fait with the Amazon website, it's not too difficult to look up an item that is being sold by Amazon UK then when it comes to adding it to your basket, click on one of the links on the right of the screen that show the same item from alternate sellers.

    No you haven't, you have bought an item from an Amazon reseller instead of looking at all the sellers of the item and then selecting Amazon.

    So no you are not due any compo from Amazon.
