Well done on your payment last month. Sounds like you're going great. Keep it up

  • Thanks Katzen.

Another NSD today. Transfers went through on my balance transfer card. Just waiting to get the final figures to confirm my starting balance for this month. On annual leave next week so hopefully little in the way of spends and less petrol money!

Wow that's a great total for October - well done! Do you have a NSD total you're aiming for for November?

    Enjoy your week off!

    2018 plans - reduce debt
  • How you doing, Cailbhinn?
  • Hey all.. for those still following. i really let this slip - I could make excuses but won't. Can't believe my last post was 14 months ago! Shameful! Anyway, still beavering away at the debt. I haven't added anything to it and have paid off around a fifth of it over the past year.

Still using YNAB and have started a help-to-buy ISA. Only £50 p/m but seems daft not do especially as the government chop and change things so rapidly.

I did have a holiday last year but it was really needed for a battery recharge. Issues around job which have thankfully resolved. The 10 days in Spain were amazing and came back so chilled. Obviously the cost of that and spending money could've been put to CC balance reduction but ho hum!

Few unexpected things with car and other unforeseen purchases meant I am very highly unlikely to meet my original November 2018 prediction but you know I am not that bothered about it. It WILL go and that's keeping me happy.

I hope you're all doing well! Keep up the good work and I'll try to not be a stranger.

  • Well Friday, Saturday and Sunday were NSDs as the snow hampered any spending. My friend says that wishing for more snow is a bad thing. Not for my bank balance though!

Today will need to be a spend day as no food in cupboards or fridge. Won't be a big one and off to ALDI which I have been using more often and find the quality good and prices even better!

I have more money than i thought in my account - my YNAB has been neglected since Xmas/NY so might spend the day sorting that out. I thought January would be a tight month but might make an additional overpayment this month to the CC.

Pay day today but using the YNAB method I'm not going to look at it or use it until the 1st of the month which is next Thursday. Have some 'spare' from December's wage so this will last me until then but going to be frugal so I can make that overpayment as above. Going to try work on a per month basis despite getting paid the last Thursday of the month. This means I don't have a 5 week (35 day) length to stretch the money out. The most will obviously be 31. Hopeful of at least £350 overpayment to CC this month. Ah well... better get off out to work.
