Hi I need some advice on spending in Iceland. I have a TSB credit card and debit card, plus a FairFX card. What would be the best way to spend whilst over there? As its not Euros, I'm a bit lost!
Up and onwards to the future!

Metro Bank debit card if there is a Metro bank close to you. They can disburse a card on the spot.
Otherwise, Revolut if you want a Prepaid card.
Virgin Money Essential debit card is not a terrible choice. Frre on spends, £1.50 for ATM withdrawals abroad.
Your current cards are not the best for Iceland.0 -
Your FairFX card will be fine. Iceland has one of most cashless systems I have ever experienced and there will be no need to have currency at all.0

How do you know that? Do you know if it's a Euro or Anywhere card?
What makes it "fine" as compared to Metro Bank debit, for instance?0 -

Unless they want to catch a bus in Reykjavik, although you can buy a book of tickets with a credit/debit card it's cash only on a single trip.
I was also surprised by the wide use of cards there, even 50p in a parking meter was card, or certain coins, only.0 -
So I can't use the Euro FairFx card?
I don't really want to be charged lots of % every time I want to eat or buy something. In the past I've been to Europe and used cash, taking it out in intervals so as not to get charged loads of fees.
Is there no alternative when I won't get charged interest?Up and onwards to the future!

You can use your euro FairFX card in Iceland, with the 1.4% 'out of currency' fee. It always has the €1.50 ATM charge, and the rate they give for loading it using pounds is about 2% off the mid-market rate.So I can't use the Euro FairFx card?
