Just curious ... any reason why what may be the most well-known gadget insurance company (Protect Your Bubble) is not listed at all?

(I don't have such specific insurance, nor am I recommending them ... it's just that their name came to mind - the power of advertising, eh?) :)
  • Protect your bubble in my opinion and case were useless and took me to fight them to get my phone replaced of which was ongoing for over 2 months from start to finish, Then on the renewal of the policy they seemed surprised when I told then to stick it due to the rubbish service I had got from them.

I insure all our 'gadgets' and devices with my Home Insurance company. I list them all with 'price new' and/or 'cost to replace' and they are covered. Every year the Insurer sends me an update alert for next 12 months and asks if I want to add anything. If I have bought anything new before then, I tell them. They have always accepted covering something else within that period, without an increase.

I think you will find that most home insurers will do this nowadays. It is actually cheaper (I found) to insure everything under one umbrella company, than using separate companies. If my Insurer was to increase price of cover dramatically, I would shop around.
I think this job really needs
    a much bigger hammer.

I bought phone insurance with my first mobile phone in the mid-1990s from The Link. They explained that the phone and accessories were covered for "everything -- even if you drop your phone in a pint of beer!"

When I tried to claim for a lost charger, I discovered that not only were accessories not covered, but there was no accidental damage cover either! A complete con! I've never trusted a salesman again.

The only things worth insuring are ones where you wouldn't be able to afford the loss -- such as buildings, contents, vehicle insurance, etc.

Insure them yourself. Put the monthly instalments in a jam jar and at the end of a year you will be in profit. If the worst happens you open the jamjar
