Morning all, I went to bed very early last night and although I only slept until 4, it was a good sleep and I feel refreshed.
Chilly here but the sun is shining again so I'm not complaining.
I've really enjoyed this week as it is the first time in ages that I've taken a week off and only had to fulfil one existing commitment, have been quite lazy. House was nice and straight until my pride and joy got back from his holiday yesterday but mess isn't the end of the world. He got in, showed us some photographs and b*ggered off again, returning at 5, mercifully sober but starving so he polished off 3 casseroled chicken thighs and two large rolls. Left over from last night, I fed OH but wasn't hungry so kept the rest, thinking he might want two and there would be one left to freeze. With hindsight, I should have frozen it last night.. He'll probably sleep all day now as he had planned an early night, famous last words.
JackieO that's lovely news, a delight.
Dumpling you sound so upbeat!
I'll go back to being stuck on the Times crossword now, my usual Saturday morning occupation, one day a miracle will occur and I will actually complete the thing. It is a great big one on Saturdays.
Hope everyone has a good day.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning! Thanks for the thread Gers. Enjoy your day out with your visitors x
dumpling - have a fab time tonight. I too love 80's music, not so sure about the fashion (cringes inwardly...)
Jackie - that such great news! Congratulations to the happy couple.
DH has just left for my mums as he will help BIL to knock down a wall and put up a steel. He will be gone most of the day as will be popping our nieces birthday present to her afterwards. Today I have a few errands in town then I will be clearing DS1's bedroom ready to decorate. We have some new furniture coming next weekend so need to get a shift on.
Dinner tonight will be chicken cacciatore so need a few bits for that which I will pick up in town.
Have a good day all

Morning all,
Bit cooler again today but no rain yet, have got the wm on the go with the first of several loads and will hang it out today.
Got a load of logs delivered last night and we all spent some time stacking them into the little shed, it will be interesting to see how long they last so have marked it on the calendar.
Today OH and I are fitting the mantle shelf , he will be doing the technical stuff and I will be an extra pair of hands for lifting etc, once its up I will paint the wall and hopefully be back to normal.
My FIL gave us a kg of ham, he got a load from his butcher and gave us half, so that will feature in dinner tonight, I might try and do jacket spuds on the burner and do ham and cheese etc with them.
DD is out tonight celebrating her friends birthday so just OH and I here.
Jackie what wonderful news :j
Lainey the support on here is amazing and helped me through the loss of my dad, don't ever think you cant come on here for support we all need it from time to time xx
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning,((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
Congratulations Jackie, wonderful news, I am sure the wedding will be great.
We went to the village feast last night. Sausage and mash, followed with crumble and custard. The meal was great, but the whole thing was spoilt by a table of very rowdy women and the children tearing about screaming and shouting. It was very similar last year, so we will not be going again.
It's a dreich morning, not actually raining but guess it might at any time. OH is doing his jigsaw on the kitchen table, he is going to have to move shortly. I need to wash the kitchen floor yet again.0 -
I feel a bit zombified today. WE had to pick up the newlyweds from Gatwick and their flight was delayed plus roadworks on the M25 meant we didn't get home until 3.30am. DS was unimpressed with BA's new plane because he couldn't fit into the seat (he's 6'6 so legroom not width). Thay also now charge extra if you want a seat by the emergency exit for the legroom.
Plans for the day are flexible.
Congratulations to the happy couple Jackie. Enjoy the party dumpling.0 -
Morning All
Huge congratulations Jackie so pleased for the whole family.:j:j
Lainey I totally agree with what others have said on the thread , we may only be OL friends but it is so good to know we have somewhere to come when we are happy, sad, angry or just need a boost.
I read the thread every day on the way to work at 5.30 in the morning and on the way home and it is great to keep up with other peoples lives, be it Hester who makes me wonder where she gets her energy from, to Jackie O and all the stories of the family to NMLC who makes my mouth water every morning with what she is making for dinner.
Dumpling have a wonderful time at the party the 80's are definitely my era.You go strut your stuff xx
Been a difficult week as DFIL rushed into hospital on Thursday and DH not dealing with things very well. May try to get the hospital today but will pop and see DMIL later.
I thought my GC had gone to pot but managed to pick up some good YS bargains last week that might help it recover.
DH bought a meal deal yesterday but I have decided that will be part of his entertainment money. Really its his way of saying sorry so rather than use the words he buys a nice dinner:rotfl:
I really need to get some movement going on housework, with DH at work I normally get more done but not really feeling it today lol.
Have a great weekend all

Morning all
Congratulations Jackie on the news.
Been awake for ages but only up a few hours. Just been down to SM and got the bits for the week .
Need to do washing today as DD2 decided to empty her bedroom floor last night.
So apart from washing and general tidy up not a lot else planned. I might bake some cakes if I have the energy.
Dinner tonight is fish cakes chips and peas.
DD2 is meant to be out so won't need to cook for her but as her plans change by the hour I will make sure there is enough for 3.
FIL is still non responsive but hanging on . Taking its toll on DH as he is now suffering with sparkle vision which is his first sign of too much stress . He is off to docs this afternoon to get checked over.
Anyhoo sitting here won't get washing done.
Hugs to all in need xxBright Blessings xx0 -
JackieO congrats to Danny and soon-to-be-Mrs-Danny.
Great news.
Dumpling enjoy the 80s do - you're a braver woman than I!Tbh I know zip about 80s music; 60s/70s is my limit.
Doglets have gone home; bungalow is far too quiet. Trust me, you haven't lived til you've been "serenaded" by two Cocker Spaniels waiting for their walk at 07:00.Harvey does a short of "chittering" noise, with Charlie's tuneful "Woooo, woooo" as counterpoint. :rotfl:
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
