Left Virgin media, but they have still taken next months payment

Options
Hi All, after 19 years with VM, and the fact that they no longer want loyal customers, I took up the offer from Martin for Sky.

However VM have still taken next months bill payment from My bank account, They say they will send Me a cheque back for any money owed to Me.

Has anyone had this happen to them, and if so how long did it take to get your cheque?

Thanks
Chris

That's usual with other providers, as they must take until you actually leave their network, then give a refund.

If they shouldn't have taken it, contact your bank, tell them you want it refunded under the direct debit guarantee and you will get in immediately

    It can happen.

It depends on your billing cycle and when the disconnection goes through.

Once your account is disconnected and a final bill is produced, any credit left on the account will be sent by Cheque within 7 to 10 workings days.

Don't use the DD Guarantee Scheme as it will cause you more hassle than it's worth, as if you claim the DD back and your final bill is done and if you have anything to pay, it's causes no end of issues. Late fee's, Payment Processing fee's ect.

Martin Lewis has nothing to do with this site (nowadays) or Sky (ever).

Sky will do the same to you when you leave them, but will credit the account they took the money from - usually 4 weeks after service ends.
  • Well I left VM on the 29/09/16, I have had a written final bill from them showing that they owe me 50 odd quid. But I still have not had the money paid back to myself.

Mine was credited on the next billing date after cut off, but they didn't have time to refund, as I took the latest bribe (too good to miss).
